Re: Patch 5.1
Trust me, he's even stupider on the Horde side - after the same debacle you Allies saw, he outrights states that he WILL control the sha.
I could post hundreds of facepalm images and it would still be an understatement.
Oh, what the heck: So there.

Garrosh has managed to piss off half the Horde leaders and the previous Warchief to boot.

Re: Patch 5.1
Garrosh's entire narrative purpose is to reignite the war between Horde and Alliance; after that job's done, it doesn't really matter what happens to him, so they're free to make him totally unlikeable.
The trick will be having both Horde & Alliance go against him while still keeping the conflict alive.

I have the feeling it will be Jaina's job to keep the conflict alive after we're done with Garrosh.

I feel that Jaina's (and to an extent, Tyrande's) job in this expansion is to make the Wrynns look really good in comparison.
A reckoning is not to be postponed indefinitely.

Start of alliance quest line

Mid of the alliance questline

Purging of Dalaran
I think the idea is fine but they went a bit overboard with it....
Garrosh has managed to piss off half the Horde leaders and the previous Warchief to boot.
The main problem right now is that there is no reason at all for the horde to be still standing.
Everyone but the goblin hates Garrosh
Vol'jin (and most liikely the trolls as a race) want him dead, nothing more nothing less
Baine likely hates him but keeps to the horde for his father's memory
Sylvanas...Well,at least she's doing whatever she wants as before
And now even Lor'themar (whoooo?) seems to want him "removed"

The reason why the other leaders havent rebelled against the Horde is because the vast majority of the Horde still consists of Orcs.
Echo Isles is not easily defensible and remember that the Horde trolls are but a small fraction of the overall troll population in the continent.
Thunder Bluff is highly defensible, but Taurens are still easily outnumbered by the Orcs.
Elves were never the most populous race (in spite of the high ingame numbers of blood elves)... Remember, about half the Elves are High Elves and the others are Blood Elves, and before that, the population got decimated by Arthas...
The Forsaken are in the unique position that every enemy they kill, its a soldier they gain -- at least that was the case until the worgen arrived, which if I recall correctly makes them immune to the forsaken plague (barring worgen dks)
This was actually addressed in one of the prior episodes of WoW Insider and why its not so easy to get rid of Garrosh even if he's pissing people left and right.

The reason the Horde still stands is Thrall's legacy: They value the Horde, they just don't like Garrosh's leadership of it.

And also, there's no telling what would happen if the Horde imploded. United, they can cover each other when things go south.
That's probably part of Sylvana's M.O. all along - do exactly whatever you want, as long as you look strong enough to be needed, and loyal enough not to backstab anytime soon.
Because for all of her bravado, if she ever broke up, the Alliance will have a *very* easy time to smash the Forsaken AND the Horde one by one.

Re: Patch 5.1
Sylvanas short story that was part of the Leaders of Azeroth series hilighted her reasons well enough. While she was between Death and Undeath she had visions that Garrosh would use the Forsaken as cannon fodder in his conquest of Gilneas leaving the Forsaken decimated and weak.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

I wholly support Garrosh using the Forsaken as cannon fodder, boat anchors, landfill, or anything else that will get rid of them.

Not like she was playing for the team before that.
But i guess Sylvanas is safe as long as they won't put the forsaken into collision course with the argent-crusader-neighbours (i.e never as long as wow goes)...
