[10H] Amber-Shaper Un'sok

Hello! For heroic Amber-Shaper Un'sok on 10, I've seen guilds utilize a few different strategies, specifically in P2, either have a tank perma-reshaped and just stack the debuff on the boss (for a super quick P3) while the other reshaped people take care of the monstrosity OR just kill the reshaped as they happen in P2 and never have more than one person reshaped, what do you recommend? I'm also unsure of if it's a 2 or 3-healed fight, does it depend on the P2 strategy? Also in P1, is the idea for the reshaped tank to eat up ALL the pools on the ground or leave a few to respawn? Thanks!

2 healed - fight looks to be a numbers thing, adds and Constructs need to die and there is just so much damage that has to be dealt. (like the first H Yor'Sahj kills for example).

Interesting strategy:

Construct person eats all the pools to avoid the problem of respawning Amber blobs - this also has the benefit of maintaining the debuff stack on the boss in p1 and monstrosity in p2
DPS bust down the Amber blobs ASAP
They purposely waited for a high amount of the debuff stacks on the boss in p1 (around 38, you can see it at 40 when he goes immune) and popped lust, taking the boss down to 43% as the boss wastes time casting Scalpel and Reshape life then calls the Monstrosity. Makes for a fast p3 but going to be prone to rng on healers being reshaped.

3 healers might be best paired with stacking the debuff on the boss as you have the longevity to do whatever you want in p2 and avoids the Reshape Life rng in p3. Probably wouldn't 3 heal and have a tank perma reshaped unless your dps is very very good.

Heh alright, what I'm kind of wondering is what's stopping them from staying in P1 for even longer and just kill the boss during that burn? Do they strategically choose to push at that debuff stack count?

That's a very interesting idea sir.

My guess is they arbitrarily decided 40 stacks was a good number to shoot for.

Around 80 stacks I would imagine to lust him down. If it is possible and that tactic becomes commonplace I would imagine the buff being capped (hotfox from blizz) at something unless the fight is ment to be trivialized with the right strat (like h majordomo and cat form)

Further thought, to get the buff that high, you would have to not do any damage to the boss unless you are in the construct else wise he will trigger p2

Why not just keep one person in the construct and stack debuffs on him the entire time? The second construct would obviously be killed and because they have no obligation to pick up puddles, should actually die quicker.

I've seen videos where people did this and P3 was roughly 30 seconds long. I mean, they entered the last phase with something like 48 stacks, which is absurd lol.

Ya otherwise you can easily kill him in P1 (you might actually be able to with really good DPS to be honest), the idea is to wait for a scalpel channel to go off and have the boss as close to 70.000000000000...1% as possible (making sure your current reshaped tank is low enough to get out of course), then you have a good 15-20 secs with the scalpel cast, boss reshaping a tank, and the monstrosity running out, before the boss gains that buff, to burn the living crap out of him. We did it on the 6th reshape, the boss had something like 45 stacks worth of debuff and we got it to 25-30% before P2 hit. This strategy really makes it so the fight isn't crawling with adds, but it requires everyone in the raid to know how to work the construct and keep up the debuff in P2 on the monstrosity.

Now that I think about it, wouldn't it be the same either before or after.

Hm if you got him to 40 stacks I wonder how high you can get it without pushing him.... would be fun to test!

There's a balance between stacking the debuff while trying not to push him over since at some point, each refresh on the debuff does a good percentage of his health hehe.

Hm, which begs the question.

How many stacks can you get if you solely only used the constructs and minimum tank damage? I imagine if you solo healed it, had one of your tanks in DPS gear and got 50-60 stacks you could potentially kill the boss before P2 happened.
