forgive my lack of knowledge... but is there a raid tier releasing with this patch, or will it come along later? Any new 5-mans or scenarios? I haven't been able to find much in the way of summaries beyond a few tidbits about upgrades and rep changes.

Maybe it's me being slow, but it seems like HoF and TES just dropped (but then again, people have already cleared it) :P

There's no new raid, a couple new faction specific scenarios, and that's it.

The new offensive factions, Brawler's guild, gear upgrading, no groups needed to go into old raids, pets from old raid bosses, nerfs/buffs, about 150 new hunter rare pets (but not high level ones, all old world stuff, and no spirit beasts), and... I think that's it.

Hmm. Just read through patch notes again... So, old instance soloing no longer requires a group, cool beans.

"Enemies in these raids that previously required more than one player to defeat are now more easily dealt with by players battling alone."

So does that mean Kalegos (Sunwell) is soloable? Along with BWL (without trying to bug), and other bosses that "pin" you to death? Oh sweet mother of meat. Good times ahead if so. Had finally gotten down Kael soloing on the lock and pally. But this opens up lots of content that I won't have to bug friends about. :P

That is indeed a good nod for those soloers. I'm curious how far they will take it though. Obviously Razorgore and Kalecgos will be on the list. But what about

Chess? I can solo it, a lot of people can solo it, but some people get really hung up on it.
Twin Emps? Has been soloable since Cata, but it took a LOT of work.
Najentus? I would assume he's on the list?
ROS? Soloable, but I'm not sure how easily for all classes.
Gluth? That one is tricky. Soloable, for some, not for others.
4 Horseman? Again, doable, but hard.
Thorim? You had to bug the encounter to do it. Will probably be on the list.
The "Immune" dragon mini-boss in OS? Would despawn when you went in the portal. Assuming it's on the list.
Gunship in ICC? Not sure if this is doable solo or not. I never could figure it out.
What about the TB BOsses? Will they soften those two tank mechanics? They can be soloed, but...
Zon'ozz? Are they going to do something to the ball?
Ultraxion? Are they going to allow you to phase?

These are just the ones off the top of my head that leave me with questions about if it could be done, based on changes. I'm sure I could think of a few more bosses that would top the list, but those are the "biggies".

ROS? Soloable, but I'm not sure how easily for all classes.

RoS drains your mana quite quickly, and if you are OOM (or your maximum mana is under 7020), you can't interrupt him and he'll chain-cc you until you are dead.

No change to Kalecgos...very disappointing. Wouldn't be that hard to either put up a clickable portal or just keep pulling you between phases.

And the 5.1 problems begin

When are you being flagged? The quest should not flag you. Flagging for PvP should be the same as always on a PvE realm. If you're accidentally attacking opposite faction guards, you will be flagged as always.

The quests themselves do not flag you, but there are guards that will you hit them or they aggro you, and I saw flak cannons that I assume fire shots that flag you.

Not the only report on those cannons flagging you from afar.

INB4 Teranoid/Flex come in and tell me that's how PVP works.

Hitting a flagged player or a guard has flagged you since forever, I know that -- but I cant remember an instance of getting flagged from a range attack from an npc.

Well, I know how you can give shit to others -- I was just preempting because if I had not mentioned the Flak cannons flagging people at range, you would have said to just stay away from guards and not aoe mindlessly near flagged players.

Gluth? That one is tricky. Soloable, for some, not for others.
4 Horseman? Again, doable, but hard.

Gluth is hilariously easy to solo now that 10-man and 25-man work off the ID system, so anyone having trouble can switch to 10-man and burn him in the time he'll take to eat 2 Zombies.

4-Horsemen also isn't hard, since you can pretty much kill 1 by the time melee horsemen run to you, and the "not in range of the ranged ones" does like 4k. 4-Horsemen plus the Achievement solo on the other hand, that's a very interesting dynamic.

Funship cannot be soloed. THe only way to do the fight is to damage the enemy Ship by getting into a Cannon, but getting into a Cannon when solo ends the fight.

The Ball on ZOn'ozz I wound up doing solo on 10-H as a Cat at the end of lvl 85 during the 35% nerf once, so it's probably doable on Normal without having to try very hard with cooldowns given how much health pools have increased.

From what I remember, Naj'entus was the only one touched in BT.

It makes no sense that they touched (at least by what I've been reading everywhere) 3 bosses.

Najentus makes no sense due to the fact that any 90 with halfway decent gear should burst him down easily making the shield a non-issue yet they leave RoS which is the entire reason 90% of specs can't solo the instance to begin with.

I much rather would have had them take more time to refine this feature than say "well three's good." The rest of this patch is pretty damn good aside from this but at least fix the obvious ones.

I have occasionally been flagged for PvP through cata/mop while farming archeology and running too close to horde guards.

Yeah, been there too -- these were cannons with long range attacks (and a long aggro radius) that are flagging people

it's just patch day weirdness

I don't know that I ever quite understood why guards hitting you (as opposed to being in a specific area, hitting them or other npcs, etc.) flagged you.

also glad my fury warrior no longer gets disarmed by the stupid birds at the farm. It was really annoying to not be able to do anything for like the first 10 seconds they were in melee range. Strangely: never had that happen on my pally.

I've not played since 30% in Cata, so I'm not sure values on stuff at 90, except that health pools seem to have doubled from DS, and DPS went up about 10-15k.

Only time I was flagged yesterday was when I attacked guards, even with flagged players in my junk.

All the raid pets drop from soloable bosses. In Naxx no pets drop from Death Knight wing for instance and you haven't had to clear all the wings to unlock Sindragosa/Lich Guy in a long time.

Still not certain how people will solo the first boss in BWL as I had to use Lay on Hands on him to have him not die.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.
