On the other hand the rest of that patch is absolutely retarded. I'm starting to wonder if they're intentionally trying to damage their game, less than three months after launch.

Re: Guild Wars 2
Can you elaborate on what you thought was bad? I don't recall anything in particular that was terrible but its been a while.
Now that the Fractals frenzy has died down a bit, I'm seeing more people going back to explorable dungeons. I've started pugging a bit more and so far they haven't been all that bad. A few have been sloppy but still successful. I'm mainly playing extra casual these days. A couple explorable modes per week with some guildies, maybe a few bits of map completion here and there and that is about all. I have 0 desire to grind out for the agony resist gear and frankly, I don't need to. My exotic gear still does the job quite well for all the content I'm running. It is fun listening to people get up in arms about the grind for gear they don't need though this is nothing new. The argument has been around forever in WoW with great gear available for heroic dungeon tokens, etc. Even though there is a minor stat gain (8% I think it is?) in 3 slots, the agony stuff feels more like grinding for resists rather than an increase in power. Not raiding Molten Core? Then you don't need the fire resist gear.
I'm looking forward to the winter holiday in a week. I think I'm going to skip the town clothes on the gem store this time around though. It will have to be amazing for me to consider it. I regret buying the witch costume on halloween. Oh, don't get me wrong. It is neat and all but I almost never swap to it. I hope that they come out with some more armor skins that we can out right buy rather than having to gamble with the damn black lion chests.

I dislike any system that relies on more than 1 level of RNG to get me the things I need.
Kill boss -> Chance of good item. That's fine.
Kill boss -> Chance of chest -> Chance of key -> Chance of good item. Gtfo.

Wintersday!
My elementalist with some holiday colors (Sort of. The lighting isn't great here but its supposed to be red and green!)

A view from the jumping puzzle.

Nice
I keep wanting to come back to GW2 (logged on just for a few mins last night), but I don't quite feel like I can just log on and play solo for an hour like I could in WoW - Only real solo content (I think?) is exploring and almost had 100% when I stopped.
Also, of course, it was stupid of me to go straight for the exploring, because now it's not as fun to level new alts because I've already seen all the areas. >_>
I really do mean to come back to it some day, but I dunno. I mean to come back to WoW as well some day. Maybe...

Re: Guild Wars 2
Sadly my GW2 time has decreased a lot as well. I log in to do the holiday stuff once and I'll do some dungeons with friends once or twice a week and that is about all. And I'm ok with that. If I had reached this point in WoW, I'd be raiding once a week, doing a heroic once or twice a week and paying $15 a month to do so. Yes, I'm that cheap

Re: Guild Wars 2
you are always told to hang around after a dynamic event, just to see what the npcs will do next...
well i have another reason to
while exploring/gathering presents in Bloodtide Coast (just south of lions arch, 45-55) i came across Captain Penzan (hes not on guildhead...)
who was searching for his lost gold with his first mate...i figured ok typical escort event
found the gold, started back and the event finished and i started to run off....then decided wtf, ill hang around
followed them back to the cave where i first revived them, and was witness to this...

i wish i was able to get screenshots, but i was spellbound laughing and listening

Hahaha, that's good! There are so many little gems of detail in gw2.
I'm still having a good time with it and the xmas content is great.

Re: Guild Wars 2
Anyone still playing regularly? I just got back into it where I'm actually playing every day. I've gone back to my warrior and have been setting him up with berserker gear so I can farm dungeons more easily. Using gw2lfg.com can be annoying. Especially for things like Citadel of Flame path 1 farming. So many elitist assholes that get bent out of shape if one little thing goes wrong and if you aren't a fully geared berserker warrior, guardian or mesmer, good luck. To get around that, I started my own group. I just invited warm bodies that knew the run and I didn't give a shit if we didn't clear it in 6 minutes. I just wanted to turn my brain off and it worked out pretty well. I have the luxury of actually being a geared berserker warrior but I'll be damned if I want to hang out with those uptight assholes.
To be honest though, I'm not really sure why I'm bothering. The new laurel vendor has some good stuff and is the only source for ascended amulets so obviously my first purchase will be one of those. Otherwise, what am I going to use all the farmed gold for? I guess I'll finish gearing my warrior and elementalist with exotic jewelry and then... time for another break perhaps. I really wish there was something productive to do that doesn't require an obscene amount of grinding. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. Most everyone can get a full set of exotic armor and weapons pretty easily but beyond that, the only other options are 100+g for T3 cultural or several hundred gold + hundreds of hours farming for a legendary. I guess laurels count sort of but even then, you are looking at 30 days for a single ascended item and then another 20 days for a halfway decent infusion.

I lost interest quite a while ago, but a friend of mine and I have been considering to give the game another shot sometime this spring. I really do want to enjoy this game as much as I enjoyed GW1 and WoW.

I still play regularly, but very very casually atm. Just got my second level 80, a necro, and neither of my 80s atm are decked out in Exotics yet, something I plan on rectifying soon.

as WoW is getting less and less appealing to me, i find my self playing GW more and more
currently working on my thief finishing up getting him in the order, and then i will either work on my ele, and get her into the priory, or finish leveling my 56 engi

Guild Missions:

Looks interesting, makes me think I should spend a bit more time being social in game, been soloing pretty much everything for the most part thus far.
