And it's on your own deviant art account...

The weird part is that the community as a whole seems to do a lot of good stuff. You got John de Lancie doing documentaries on the fandom, there is an actual registered charity founded by people in the fandom that gives money to tons of other charities... i know they at least funded the constructions of an orphanage in africa about 6 months ago (it was started by one of the voice actresses); another voice actress was in one of those cancer research bike races and she got 10k+ in donations from the fans; there are fanmade calendars and music cds where all the income generated goes to other charities and such...

But there's always the creepy ones that ruin everything, but then again I also see it in other fandoms as well

Here's a new Amusement. I'm not much of a "space guy". I'm more of a "Deep Sea" explortation enthusiast. But, I'm utterly fascinated by 3753 Cruithne Forget a Moon Base. I want a base there. The orbit boggles my mind, and makes me think it would be a freaking awesome way to explore.

Yeah, I know. It's small, and landing on it would be tough, and setting up a base would be nearly impossible to keep running, but man... That would be cool.

Re: pony wierdness

Is it bad that I was prepared for worse?

The internet has taught me that what has been seen can't be unseen.

Also, I feel this is a good time to reference the geek hierarchy: http://brunching.com/images/geekchartbig.gif

Edited to add:

I used to be part of the Poser/Daz3D-based CG art scene. There not just was there the occasionally creepy image, but they would be nearly universally poorly done.

My god it's been years since I've heard of Poser.

Think the last time I touched any of the stuff I used was probably close to 4-5 years ago. I don't even know if Poser is still around - Daz3D is, and I assume Hexagon (Daz aquired it a bit before I stopped) is. Bryce appears to be. Used Blender a bit as well, and I'm sure it's still knocking around. I'm sure the big-money packages like 3D-Studio are still around.

But I can still tell a Michael or Victoria-based model when I see one ;)

Norwegian mass killer Anders Behring Breivik's complaints about prison life range from a lack of moisturiser in his cell to the temperature of his coffee.

I'm sure that my opinion about him could be incredibly unpopular, but I am a firm believer that they would be better off to take one of the weapons and some of the ammo that he used and return the favor. I'm not normally a huge supporter of the death penalty, but he isn't remorseful, there is no chance of reintegration into society. He's going to live out his days in near complete isolation.

I'm of two minds. One side says that someone like that doesn't deserve to live, so why bother keeping him alive. The other side thinks he should just sit there miserable and rot until he dies of old age

No, don't want to make a martyr of him. Better to have an old-fashioned medieval prison. Coffee? He'll be thankful if he gets water.

What does he even need coffee for really? Water's more than suitable to sustain life in terms of liquids.

i am in agreeance with this
i believe if you broke the law, you should be punished
not have the lap of luxury with the minor inconveinece of having to be shackled when you go outside the walls

prisoners have free health care, 3 hot nourishing meals a day, free access to gym equipment, discounted education costs (note this is all at a local prison and may or may not be the case in your area)

my state has the death penalty, and yet we kept a guy on dialysis for something like 13 years on death row
(oh and there is also this article)

and yet someone who hasnt perpetrated a crime ..well in at least the last 30 years (im not answering for her before i was around) cant get insurance to cover a life saving surgery

i almost wish they would do what i think it was texas did and give inmates an option to forgo appeals and just get it over with

Amirya:Why yes, your penis is longer than his because you hit 30k dps in the first 10 seconds. But guess what? That raid boss has a dick bigger than your ego.
Flex:I don't make mistakes. I execute carefully planned strategic group wipes.
Levie:(in /g) It's weird, I have a collar and I dont know where I got it from, Worgen are kinky!
Levie:Drunk Lev goes and does what he pleases just to annoy sober Lev.

Yeah, I remember watching Sicko, and how guantanamo prisoners have better healthcare than 9/11 first responders... and how they received better treatment in actual cuban hospitals than they ever did in state of the art US hospitals, in part because the medicine that costs hundreds of dollars in the US goes for cents on the dollars in Cuba.

Man, socialism sure is scary... (yeah, i know, Cuba has some other restrictions... )

Actually, a more comparable example is my mom.

She had her gall bladder removed in a private mexican hospital -- the whole thing was close to $2500. I'm not talking about just the surgery, but everything... surgery room, anesthesiologist, surgeon, stay at the hospital, et al.

By comparison, my kidney stone hospital bill was about eight grand, spending a grand total of 6 hrs in the hospital, pretty much bucknaked, in a gurney, under the AC, and all they did was run X-Rays and MRI... (my insurance covered a bit over six grand, my deductible was 1.5 grand)...

When I passed another kidney stone 2 months ago, I got myself across the border to mexico and spend the night there under observation -- total bill? 250 bucks (doctor visit, medicine and room at the hospital)

Fuck the US healthcare system
