Re: Hermes: The great messenger of your raid's cooldowns!
Just started using this and well, needless to say it's good.
I'm having one issue though. Even though I have "Hide Self" selected, I can still see my CDs on the list, namely my Hand of Sacrifice. It worked fine at the start but now I can't get rid of myself and seeing as I can't Sac myself and the list of potential Sac sources is already long, it's proving to be excess clutter. Any idea on how to fix this?

Noticed it myself now aswell.
It has major problems with the LFR, for whatever reason.
5mans cross realm works fine, but something about the LFR is making it annoying.

I haven't had a chance to hammer on this, as far a LFR goes (debugging in LFR is likely to be tedious and time consuming). I'm not certain it's that high a priority anyway, given coordinating CDs in LFR is not exactly necessary ><
As far as filtering self, I'll take a look next chance I get.

The issue of it still showing my CDs with Hide Self selected has disappeared this week even though I haven't touched the settings since. Will have to see if it crops up again.

Has this been taken over or still a hit / miss thing?

Re: Hermes: The great messenger of your raid's cooldowns!
Hi All,
Original author here. I haven't played WoW since I quit. But was talking to some old guild mates of mine recently and they mentioned they still use Hermes. I was surprised it still works considering I didn't have any strong takers for someone to maintain it.
I am not surprised that LFR or ANY cross realm type communication doesn't work. That's a big reason I never got Hermes working for PvP either (same solution would likely solve all those problems). Basically, it was very difficult to test at the time so I didn't try to implement it.
Fuzzy, or whoever wants to take it over please do if you haven't already. I marked the project as abandoned on curse a while ago.
I still feel terrible about stopping support but I don't feel terrible about quitting wow
I believe I still get PM's so if you need my attention fire one off. Ciao

Look like it is not working in 5.0.4...
Is there an alternative anybody can recommend?

Damn was afraid that Mists would brake it /cry
I've not seen anything else that can replace it yet.

I'll take a look and see if it's relatively easily fixable; they removed some functions and replaced them with differently named functions.

Looking at it now, and it's not that straightforward; I'll give it a couple hours or see if it's just beyond my ken.

Re: Hermes: The great messenger of your raid's cooldowns!
Hmm with the new talent system Talents.lua would need to be completely re-designed and re-written. Drops' code is really clean and he's got provisions for internally re-building the spell database, but it would require some significant reconstruction to get this working again as he's built it
I'm going to poke around and see if I can simplify so its base functionality will work, and think about the auto-populate later. It might be feasible to read off the SpellMonitorDefaults.lua, but what with weird CDs I'm not sure how effective it's going to be.
Like, I don't even know how to handle Unbreakable Spirit.
I only tinker around with LUA enough to get things to work and do simple string parsing; I think updating Hermes to 5.0 is beyond what I can do. Sorry
