5.0 patch August 28th*
With the arena season ending on the 29th, seems that the patch would come the following week.. wonder if the world event will start that week, or the following?

The patch is hitting the same week the season ends.

at least we have a chance to get used to the new talents/specs

By time if you ask me. I'm going to edit the title to avoid confusion

And speaking of this, the post on the PvP season end tells us what happens to Conquest and Honor - could be an indication of how Valor and Justice will be handled, too.
At the end of the season, Conquest Points will be converted to Honor Points, possibly exceeding the 4,000 point Honor cap. There will be no cap on Honor until Mists of Pandaria is released on September 25. At that time, any Honor accrued above the 4,000-point cap will be converted into gold at a rate of 35 silver per point.

Sounding like we'll want 4k HP and 4k JP going into MoP then.

Bombing Theramore for a start, but I think they said there would only be 2 weeks of the pre event. So 2 weeks of the new talents then 2 weeks of Horde attacking and stuff followed by MoP going live.

They don't seem to reveal the full world events on PTRs, but we know there's the Fall of Theramore scenario.

This also means that my GM is going to be a screaming ball of fury trying to get us to finish H DS next week (he's getting married this week...)

Cataclysm released on my wife's birthday. Fortunately she plays too... unfortunately she couldn't get the day off.
Good luck to you!

I took my customary 18 days of leave from work for a new xpac / major patch to level and gear up. Now...to decide if I actually want to main tank for two guilds...

18days???!?
My wife would kill me slowly and painfully...
But, I was able to schedulle a running 3 days leave. That is enough to get to 85 and get some gear ready to raid on the first week.
And enough so she kicks my head in due to much time dedicated to WoW.
Cheers

I'd need to have 18 days to actually take them. I've got a grand total of 20 a year and I've used already 10 this summer to go on vacation back home, I couldn't book those many if I wanted.

I've taken 4 days off, getting up silly early Tuesday morning probably 4 am ish UK time so me and a Finnish friend can level together. With any luck the servers will be stable by that time but still early enough to be ahead of most ppl in the starting area

Not sure what I'll do yet. Took two days last time (tues + wed), got to 85 on my main on the first day. Might just do the same again.

Midnight EST, I believe. So it'll be 9pm Monday for me, which is actually quite nice.
[Edit] This was changed, it's midnight PDT again.
