Super Monday Night Combat (SMNC)
A mashup of LoL/Dota + 3rd person shooter gameplay. I've been having a ton of fun with the game. It's free on Steam. Like LoL, there is a set of rotating pros every week that are free for people to play. There is a cash shop where you can buy pros or costumes or boosts. The boosts don't give power, they just give you increased exp or coin gain. Coins earned in game are used to buy pros, endorsements and products. Endorsements will tweak your stats (run speed, skill recharge, health regen, crit%, etc). Products give various other effects, such as automatically putting you out if you are on fire or dropping a health/damage bomb when you die, etc. You unlock endorsement slots as you gain higher levels.
It has the same problems any Dota game has. Public games tend to be pretty hit or miss. If you end up with a person or two that doesn't know what they are doing, they'll feed the other team and they'll outlevel you quickly and then its downhill from there.
Here's a basic "How to play" video for anyone interested.

And then some actual real gameplay vs other people.

The best advice I can give for a new player is to do as much as you can to not die and to always be killing enemy bots. You cannot win the game without your bots. You need them to bring down the shields of the turrets and money ball in order to win so even if you're not great at killing other people, you can be an asset to your team by killing bots.
