What are YOU listening to?

Re: What are YOU listening to?
not sure if any of these meet your criteria for 'rock' and if they're popular enough in the US to make it into the Hall of Fame, but Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Coldplay, Muse, Franz Ferdinand and Arcade Fire all showed up at about that time. It is pretty funny though - I didn't intentionally pick mostly UK bands, but I'm struggling to think of many US bands that aren't more in the pop punk category.

Fort, you may be right, will have to see the continued success of the bands you listed or will be like so many others who had a good album or two, enjoyed their 15 minutes and left by the backdoor, but there is some potential there.

I should have kept quiet and thought a fool then to have typed and removed all doubt.

Re: What are YOU listening to?
I thought of Arctic Monkeys but kinda feel like they've been getting less attention since their early stuff.
Muse started too early to be a 2000s band (first album 1999), but they're huge, yes. Coldplay are huge, too, though I'm not really a fan. Don't know how anyone could say they'd be 15 minutes then gone bands, they've both been around over a decade and are very successful. Franz Ferdinand seem to have vanished (I'd not complain about that).
I cannot stand Arcade Fire. At all.

Re: What are YOU listening to?
yeah, I wouldn't really call myself a fan of most of those bands either - just trying to think of the ones that were a chance at the HoF (like it or not Nickelback will probably get in at some stage as well). A few of them definitely need a few more solid albums to be real contenders. Apparently Franz Ferdinand have another album coming out this year.
RE: US bands - The Strokes, The Black Keys and The White Stripes may have a chance and if I'm allowed to cheat again and suggest late 90's bands that became bigger in the 2000's Death Cab For Cutie and Modest Mouse are possibilities.

Been listening to these St. Vincent live sessions and loving it. Strange Mercy in particular is great.

Re: What are YOU listening to?
I can't think of too many rock bands from the 2k's that I love. Maybe Angels and Airwaves, but that was more of a side project.
My ever evolving Slacker station I listen to this pretty much all day at work, banning artists, banning songs, and having a normally decent listen.
Far better than Pandora, that's for sure.
