It works if you were the one targeted with Ultraxion's aoe. It doesn't work under any other circumstances from what I've seen.

I am now WAY jealous of DKs, they are completely OP.

On Friday when we were working on Ultrax I noticed that our DK tank was taking way less damage than my tank. For our kill the DK tank took HALF of my damage taken and was #10 of 10 on damage taken per my Recount. That is insane, DKs can Bloodshield to high heaven yet most of the killer dmg in DS is unblockable, sigh.

Ultraxion's a highly gimmicky encounter as far as tanking due to the Thrall buff, but Ultraxion is hardly what I'd consider a tank survival check so the balance of tank survival being thrown completely out is not particularly a big deal. However dancing rune weapon being up for 24 seconds out of 45 is slightly ridiculous, and lets DK tanks effortlessly do roughly 8-10k more dps than paladins, which is more relevant given the encounter is primarily a dps race.

This is a question relating to 25H, but it's not strat related so I figured maybe this would be ok here anyways. So, about 90 seconds into our Ultrax attempt last night, I just... died. Pretty sure it wasn't to a fading light, but the log doesn't show it. However, it does show this gem:

I obviously wasn't facing away from the boss, none of my gear was broken. Previous melee hits:

How the heck did Ultrax hit me that hard?

When you come back from the normal realm on non-heroic, you don't generate threat. On heroic, you generate threat, but take double damage for a short time.
