Other Games Forum Rules!! -Please read before posting-
Welcome to the Other Games forum!
Our rules here are very simple.
1. Be respectful of other people's opinions.
We all have our own opinions on video games, which ones we like or don't like. Just because someone else thinks Barbie Island's horse adventure is the worst game ever, and you think it's amazing means you have to be disrespectful.
2. No ruining other people's experiences.
This encompasses many things.
A. No spoilers
This is an extremely obvious one. No one wants to come to an awesome forum to read about the game they're playing and have an awesome story point ruined for them. Now, Right now we do not currently have "Spoiler tags" but we will soon. You have 2 acceptable options for posting spoiler related content. You can either put your size to "tiny" or smaller, and tell people that there are spoilers there, or change the color on your text to match the color of the background.
For this you'll want to use either white, or "color=#dedede" with brackets instead of quotes.
B. No telling other people how to play.
Now, if someone asks for advice on how to play/what to choose/etc then give your opinion. But tying into Rule 1, don't start screaming that what other people are doing is a bad choice/stupid. (example: WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU GET THAT SWORD WHEN THERE IS VERY OBVIOUSLY A SUPERIOR SWORD RIGHT OVER HURR. DERPADERPADEKAHSD.)
I think you get my point.
That's pretty much it. I highly doubt this forum will need much moderating since we all seem to be a pretty intelligent gentlemen/womanly bunch.
Obviously any of the other rules from other forums apply here as well.
Bottom line- Use common sense and everything will be A-O-K. No-one here wants me to have to Moderate stuff and get all power-hungry like Invis, so don't make me.
ME3 Spoilers.*Except of course that ridding the world of synthetics was the worst choice I ever made, how the fuck am I supposed to get to Thessia to mate with all the hawt Asari women now?!*

Do we have spoiler tags enabled? e.g.:
^-- This would let us discuss things like the frustration at the endings of games, etc. Some forums render it as an expandable div, some render it as white-on-white text.
Either way, I think a lot of the interesting stuff to say about games ("At the end, I felt like I had no choices" and so on) seem to be spoilers for people who haven't played them so far. Perhaps we could request a [Spoilers] tag in the thread name, similar to how we had tier/boss names in the fight tactics threads, rather than banning them altogether?
(Spoiler for anyone who hasn't played/beaten Mario)

Why is the princess always in another castle??
Indeed, something like this would make sense. It seems rather pointless to have a section specifically for discussing games if anything to do with plot or story in any of them is off limits, only discussing game mechanics isn't going to be terribly thrilling. Totally understand people not wanting to have stuff spoiled, but a spoiler tag in the title or such would solve that and allow those who have played the game or don't care to discuss the whole thing or even ask for help with parts, etc.

Imagine some spoilers here. Or don't. Rosebud.
Oh wow, it's the Statue of Liberty.
I already posted this over in the ME3 thread, but might as well repost it here for greater visibility. While there's no current support for spoiler tags, will make text invisible on the standard background color, while will make it invisible when in a quote box. There's unfortunately not a good way to keep it completely illegible when quoted since either will become visible then (since putting a quote within a quote produces yet another background color), but it makes for a reasonable alternative for now.

I've talked to Aergis about adding
tags in here, he's gonna look into it this weekend for me. For now, just use white or the one that chicken posted, and warn people please =]

That said, we do have multiple subforums dedicated to WoW's game mechanics, and that's just one game. So clearly there are some thrills to be had in discussing character builds, gear sets and optimal multiplayer strategies.
A reckoning is not to be postponed indefinitely.

I believe Chickens post above mentions how to recolor the first quoted sections.

Thing is, that one's still almost unreadable without effort on both of the quote backgrounds in the above two posts. I think it's serving the purpose pretty well. (Of course, that might vary with display brightness and contrast.)
