Hydross: possible to MT both phases?
Like a good little tankadin I like to push the envelope...
What are people's thoughts on this? With 490+ defense and resists somewhere in the low 200's do you think its feasible?
Working on getting a mix set now & using old tank gear socketed with void spheres (battlescar boots, crest of the sha'tar etc.). This raises finer points like is it worth giving up 12 sta per socked for 4 resist all?
Just tossin' it out there.

To properly tank Hydross when the 100% and 250% marks are applied, you _need_ resist capped or almost capped, since he'll be meleeing for LOTS of damage. Having non-resisted hits is something you cannot survive.
I don't think it's possible in any way to MT both phases at same time.

I'm just saying....you can also tank prince while crushable: doesn't mean it's a good idea if it's still progression content for you

i dont think thats physically possible to stack 300 resist of each, let alone get near the defense cap.

Before or after buffs?
You can definitely break 300 to both while staying uncrittable vs the spawns, but I'm no sure how much resist you'd need to lose to get to uncrittable by hydross himself.

Alorianna, what's this paladin's name?
Its gotta be possible IMO, just extremely tricky to get the right gear set and still have enough hp to take the spikes. I'll continue tinkering away on the set as I can and see what I can come up with. And I think safer to gimp a bit on resist rather than defense.
Remember we get 105 from auras + flask of chromatic wonder, leaving us needing about 190 of each resist.
So far I'm looking at:
Frost -
35 ring (use defense trinkets to make up for it)
60 chest
16 to 40 from void spheres in old tank gear (however this hurts stamina badly - say 24 as estimate for now.)
19 cloak (mystic sheen - 12 resist all plus 7 resist all enchant)
5 resist all to shield (would hurt to lose 18 sta though)
16-ish from resist armor patches
Total Frost: 159
Nature -
35 ring
50 helm + 20 from glyph (wildguard helm gives more defense than iceguard - hence this configuration)
24ish void spheres
19 cloak
5 shield resist
maybe 8 from armor patch
Total Nature: 161
we shall see. I think hitpoints will be the achilles' heel of the set.
It'll be my pet project for a bit, see what I can come up with.
edit: could put 7 resist all on shoulders too but need to see if defense loss is possible.

His name is Scorpio on my server, Lightninghoof. That is what he claims when I spoke with him. I've seen his resist set, its largely the epic craftables and old Kara tanking epics gemed for resist. 300 of each is after FrR Aura and Aspect of the Wild and a Flask of Chromatic Wonder. I forget his exact gear set. I haven't talked to him in some time, but I could ask for those interested.
