The profession skill ups came nicely for my 70 alt.. I was stuck on tailoring right on the edge for getting frostweave items done, the gap between netherweave is about 15 skill ups, it was costing me dearly to get one point at yellow.. finally got it over 350 and can begin crafting wotlk stuff..

I was also was stuck on enchanting, the skill ups were too costly, many mats that are quite expensive at that level, the only orange skill up would cost me 100g per point.. ouch.. got passed that recipe and learned another more cheap.

Hm... this reminds me... I need to take my BS/Scribe alts to the fair...

The trophies seem to happen when you get a killing blow. I got mine grinding off of those fast spawning runesmiths after doing a couple instances and seeing how they dropped. The quest items from Instances can drop from ANY boss of any instance, no level required (I got the crysal from the one in Ragefire Chasm as a level 85, and have heard of some dropping in SFK to those farming cloth)

You do not need to land a killing blow. If you are in a group, you just need to be present (the trophies drop in dungeons) - I picked up 30 while being a paladin healer in some heroics.

That said, there is currently a bug regarding trophies and heroics. As of last night, the trophies will not drop in heroic Blackrock Caverns and, presumably, Throne of Tides. I did submit a bug report about this. My thought was perhaps because they don't consider normal BRC and ToT to be "challenging," but reread says that it has to yield honor or experience, and if you can grind in Valley of Fallen Heroes in Icecrown, that doesn't seem right either.

Regarding the DMF as a whole, it's interesting, but it's not grindworthy. Best part, for me, was the cannonball thing. I never did it before, and for the first shot, I had "pretty good" - second shot got me the bullseye achievement.

That might be the case then. I noticed getting them fairly infrequently, and actually thought it was from sniping killing blows from the DPS in the 5 mans. I know when I was killing the mobs in Icecrown I was getting a token per kill.

There are some mobs I've noticed that do not give them at all. All of the ghouls in Icecrown between the first and second gates never give tokens, so I assume mobs that are supposed to be killed in vehicle quests won't provide them to avoid the issue that occured with the Love is in the Air bracelets...

I did notice that as well. I just assumed the trophies are 1 per person.

Supposedly, for the cannon ach, if you spam jump when landing in the ring, it makes getting the bullseye easier. I haven't tried this myself, but that was a discussion in General chat yesterday.

The best things in the game are things that have no reason for being there other than someone wanted them there. I am always surprised when there is an on-level mob in a zone I don't have to kill or rescue or interact with for a quest.

I see what you're saying, since finding stuff like that in Skyrim thrills the fuck out of me. But in WoW the same just feels pointless. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for everyone who has fun in the new DMF and stuff, and have no complaints at all that they spent time putting it it - I just have no inclination to go there and do stuff, just like most of the holiday events feel pointless. Instead, I'm going to wander around for hours in Skyrim seeing if I can climb a mountain or finding a shack full of in-game books to read.

Best spot I found for grinding trophies is the Cathedral of Darkness, north-west of ICC itself. The place where Fordring has his showdown with the Lich King at the end of the heart quest line. All the elites (only 39k hp each) on each side are linked and pull 20 at a time. By the time I killed one side (as ret) and looted the other side had respawned. Prot should be able to pull the whole place easily for 40 trophies per go.

For the trophies, I went to the Aldru'thar (also in IC) - the mobs have 10k apiece and tend to pull in 2s or 3s and respawn FAST. They're irritating to a caster as they tend to bump back, but they die insanely fast.

Those fishing pools are pretty nice, the chests I fished up had Cataclysm herbs, potions, and elixirs in them, and a new version of the old Firewater you used to get in Winterspring.
