We've lost one of the creative cornerstones of modern fantasy.

I didn't enjoy her books but I respected her enormously for her work in the community, especially with new authors.

Very sad indeed.

Be at peace Anne.

I did enjoy her books....the Dragonrider's series is one of the first series I ever read and it made a huge impression on my.

She will be missed. RIP.

I didn't read her extensively, by any means, but I did enjoy some of her classic works.

RIP.

I've always meant to read some of the pern stuff, but just never found the time. :(

Do make the time. The original trilogy (Dragonflight, Dragonquest and The White Dragon) are incredible in their depth and the sense of a world that has suffered a long "dark age" and are just now waking up to the glory that they once were.

Some of the later books get a bit....wonky, but the original trilogy is the stuff of legends.

I just have a lot to read right now.

This Perfect Day
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Trilogy (at the prodding of many friends)
2-3 new stephen king books came out recently (I'm a sucker for King, and I'm not too proud to admit it.)
