Chrome Users. Need input.
I know there are a fair number of chrome users here on the board. Has anyone else been getting a bar on sites that says that you need to install an additional plugin?
I have gotten the bar on MMO-C, Facebook, And another forum (not this one) that employs advertising. I tried to check it out to see what the plug in was, and I can't seem to figure that out.
The See more link takes me to Chrome's talk about Window's Media Player settings.
My wife didn't realize what it was, and she clicked on it, and then said "why didn't the browser update?" and I'm now fearful that Ive been hit wit some super awesome virus.
Someone tell me that I'm running all these scans on my computer for nothing and that there is an update I needed.

I don't think I have had to do any update recently and I use it at home and at work.

I don't recall one.
Go to chrome://plugins/ or about:plugins (Damn, bbcode won't let me link them) and see if there's anything suspicious. There's even a Details button.
Mine lists:
Flash
quicktime
Java
Adobe Acrobat (disabled)
Silverlight
Remoting viewer (????)
Native Client
GWT DMP plugin
Wacom library
Windows live photo gallery
Google update
Default Plugin

Only time I've seen that pop-up is when it's asking to run Java on a page.

Found out what the problem was.
I updated skype, which added a push to call feature on chrome, which is borked to hell and back.

Skype is horrible. I despise Chrome and its New Tab page I can't disable. I moved back to Firefox on my older Windows computers.

Considering that Chrome is the most lightweight and reliable browser atm that seems like an odd choice. Firefox 7 is useable, for sure, but Chrome is probably still better for day to day usage for the average person.

If they allowed me to turn off the new tab page I'd still be using it.
It was described as the most first world of first world problems to me last night during the raid.
I also hate that the Ghostery Firefox extension places its number overlay in such a way that changes the width of the button causing my entire address and search bar to resize as the page loads.

I use Chrome and I love it.

I didn't like it in Safari and I don't like it in Chrome. At least I can turn it off in Safari.

What is it you want the new tab button to do? I used to use about:blank as my homepage, and then later the wowhead page at home, but have always loved Chrome's new tabs.

I want it to open a tab that contains, at best, nothing and at worst a collapsed view of everything google wants to shove in my face. My home page is set to about:blank and I launch to my homepage.
