I think yes; you can ignore the P&T Bombast if that's not your cup of tea; the majority of the show is the performances of the guest magicians (4-5 per show). Some of their routines are amazing. Some are hilarious. Whether or not P&T figure out the trick is secondary to appreciating the artistry of the guests.

I normally dislike Penn Jillette because he comes off as a pretenious, pompous ass
But i thought that was enjoyable. I've always enjoyed magic.

It was originally just supposed to be a TV special, so the pilot episode is longer than the others and isn't counted in the series count. So technically there is no episode 9, just the pilot and episodes 1-8.
