As a whim, after opera, instead of running out the front door, we went through the left side of the stage and a bunch of small aoe groups with 1 elite in each group call philanthropist.

The only reason I am noting this is cause once you kill the philanthropist he has over 10 gold, which translates to 1 gold per person in the raid. I can't remember how many of them there are but roughly over 6 I think.

Then you end up at teh back door to continue in the raid without risk of having to fight out the front door (in pvp servers) with opposite factions.

We've always just killed those mobs, they're fun to AoE tank and they pay your repair bills and then some. There's about 10-12 philanthropists, all with two non-elites attatched.

Philanthropists take less than 10 minutes with a paladin tanking, no excuse not to do them. I always make my group do them anyways because it seems like running out the front and around the back is just skipping mobs to say you skipped them. In reality its the most worthwhile trash in the instance.

Aye, even without a Pally tank, we've killed em. They about the same time to clear than it takes you to run out the front and round to the back exit, and the gold is really nice.

No idea why we went out the front but it's what we did for months LOL and it seems on my server we weren't the only ones going out the front, hence the slaughter at the door when groups run out the front to the back depending on which faction controls the stone.

Also kind of fun to aoe as many as Patron as possible when clearing the way to opera

Well you just go through the door at the opposite of the one you enter the opera. This path leads you to Curator trash mobs.

My guild calls it the Money Run.

Now if only I could get people to start it without taking a fifteen minute bio break as soon as Opera has been looted...
