It's a nice trick to learn if ice traps are scarce and the Riplimb tank can't freeze Riplimb. You can literally have Riplimb trail behind Shannox for ~15s if need be... If this would help anyone I can demonstrate it, but its definitely not needed to defeat this boss and should only be used as an emergency.

Not sure if it was at a 45 degree angle, but I have experienced this as well. I was tanking riplimb on my druid, and a warrior was tanking shannox. Both the warrior and I never went above 3 stacks the entire fight. I'd just run away from traps and keep a crystal trap in los of me and riplimb whenever he starts running toward shannox. THe warrior would just strafe and heroic leap and kite riplimp behind shannox like that. I was literally standing around for 15-30 seconds at a time chilling with my healer :D

Also, we use Alysrazor's room for H Shannox in my 25 man.

I tried out the Shannox trick where you prevent Riplimp from reaching him. Basically, kiting him in a smallish circle seemed to work almost all of the time. When I say smallish, imagine a 10-yard circle AOE centered on you. That circle is how I was kiting him. Maybe a bit bigger of a circle. Either way, moving in a circular pattern kept Riplimp from reaching Shannox for a while.

Right. I said 45 degreeish angle last time just to emphasize that you need to constantly strafe to keep max distance from him - aka a concentric circle works no matter what size it is as long as you can make Shannox move forward. I do the same thing but unfortunately we're too lazy to kill any boss besides HM Shannox first so I usually don't have the cleanest terrain to work with.

Just be careful not to hold him too long because he will still "Hurl Spear" at Riplimb even if Riplimb is trailing him with his old spear in his mouth!

It's nice not having the OT do much and myself kiting both creatures for the duration of the fight. Only a few times did I let the OT tank rip.

We've always basically done this at least at the end of the timers to get our jagged tear to reset...I believe this is the mechanic
