Coming in Patch 4.3.2 -- Cross-Realm Raids
I am ninja editing and semi necroing an old post about Real ID party feature this follows on from it.
This thread is now about "Coming in Patch 4.3.2 -- Cross-Realm Raids" (and BattleTag although that is still a long way away from happening).

We previously introduced the ability to form cross-realm parties with Real ID friends, and now with Patch 4.3.2, we're adding the ability for players to use that same functionality to form raids to run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds!
This will allow you to join up with your Real ID friends from other realms and:
Form a cross-realm raid and use Raid Finder
Jump in to any classic dungeon or raid and be automatically placed in the same instance
Join forces and dominate the Battlegrounds
Please note, you will not yet be able to run normal or Heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm Real ID raids.
As we look forward to the BattleTag system, it’s a very exciting time for World of Warcraft. No matter what realm you and your friends are on you’ll be able to team up and take on group content throughout the game.

Blue postWhen delving into the depths of Azeroth's darkest dungeons, it always helps to have some friends at your side... now you're able to issue a call to arms no matter what realm they play on. We're pleased to announce the new Real ID Party feature is now available for testing! This new feature will allow World of Warcraft players to invite their real-life Real ID friends of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.
There is more info on the link, including a FAQ
Edit (16/08/2011) -
The testing period is over and is "now officially live". It still doesn't cost anything -Source wrote:and it's available to all World of Warcraft players at no additional charge -- all you need to do is have Real ID enabled.

I knew I was forgetting something...
However, I could move resources between servers when it's profitable, and still do runs... goblin sense is tingling.

Won't they be restricted to the usual thing where you can only trade loot timer and conjured items?

Yes, but that's not where the profit is.. Imagine that Slickrock sees some great deals in the SC AH, that he knows will sell for double on the Terenas AH... but he still wants to do Trolls with his PK buddies..
This (assuming there isn't an additional monthly fee for this) will allow for the moving of alts without cutting them off completely from friends.

Oh, right, I get your meaning now. Moving toons around without affecting your gameplay.

Yep, I've made up to 150k moving one toon before, so it can be profitable.

I've passed the last 10 minutes spamming insults, oscenities and random atrocities in real ID cause they didn't turn it on in EU (and likely won't at all).
Even cause I'll pay for it if they really make it "premium", cause in my endless server hopping I have friends on half of the EU realms.
Expecially Mazater.

I've been looking forward to trying this out, so it figures that they'd release it right before I go on vacation. I'll have to fool with it tonight, I guess, and hope that they keep it open for more than a week.

Since we can't do dungeons with our cross realm cross faction friends, they should let us do War Games with them. That should be the next feature.
