Forum Game: 5 movies you'll stop and watch

Postby fuzzygeek » Mon Jul 11, 2011 4:25 pm

What movies will you stop flipping channels if you come across and watch for a bit, then have to grab the DVD (or dvix IYKWIMAITYD) a couple days later and watch again?

In no particular order:

- The Princess Bride
- Ocean's Eleven
- The Usual Suspects
- Aliens
- Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail

I'm not sure if I'd HAVE to watch it a few days later, sometimes I'd just grab the DVD right then and start it from the beginning.

In no particular order:

-Princess Bride
-Hackers
-Fifth Element
-Dark Knight
-Charlie's Angels (1&2)

I'm actually curious... has anyone that's seen Fifth Element NOT liked it? I don't mean full out love it, but if you'd sit through watching it again without being forced, then you liked it enough to do so (or are extremely bored...) Same thing with Princess Bride (though maybe I should start a new thread instead of derailing this one .)

The Princess Bride
Ocean's Eleven
Bull Durham
Kill Bill (censored-for-cable version only, for the "Party Wagon")
Con Air (yeah, yeah, I know... but Cage's accent is so bad, it's almost hypnotic)

I was oddly obsessed with 5th before it came out -- I was downloading media assets for it on my 56k modem. The Diva Dance from the soundtrack is still on my programming music playlist. But watching it again a few years ago, I don't know that it aged well ...

Another one I probably should have put on my list: Clue.

Aliens
Predator
Airplane!
Requiem for a Dream
Speed Racer (best described as a Beautiful Failure. It is an outstanding live action cartoon car-fu movie, with a horrible plot)
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

Phantom of the Opera
Harry Potter (any of them, though Prisoner is my least favorite)
The Fifth Element
Princess Bride
Serenity (shhh, don't tell my ex husband, I hate Firefly) (yes, that is not supposed to make sense)
