I can see the equalizing ratings is a good thing to do ,but with the strenght on our gear and thus giving more parry, will those percentages be the same?

Strength gives parry rating directly. So if you match dodge and parry rating, you're automatically adjusting for Strength.

The agility gain is old old, from the beginning of time (2004) and pre-ratings. The strength gain is much newer and added with a different implementation. Not that it's an excuse for them exposing something so confusing, but that's why.
