I wonder if she'll play a fat pig so everyone goes "Who is that?" while they overlook her acting ability.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

Re: Burn Notice
Don't you mean lack of acting ability?
Of course, she's hot enough that they could cast her as anything, and people won't care.

I prefer trying to be more clever in my insult of people more attractive and famous than me.

Eliza Dushku: All the acting ability of the bastard child of Keanu Reeves and a Fencepost. Combine that with a hotness level approaching the sun, and it's a winning combination.

Oh fuck you. Those are all my favourites too. Now I think you're just doing this on purpose.

Re: Burn Notice
Dollhouse. The only parts of it that were believable on her part were the parts where she was acting in doll state. The rest of it was so over-the-top it was almost a caricature or parody of Action Girl, rather than "good" acting.
Buffy (the series) and Angel, although those were both entertaining in the horrible acting on the parts of pretty much everyone so it's hard to tell whether or not they were directed like that. David Boreanaz is AWESOME as Seeley Boothe though, so I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt as far as it being the director's fault there.
Bring It On (the original movie) - need I say more? The entire cast was practically just eye candy. It was cheerleader porn.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - although at least she was hilarious. Again, it was the overacted caricatured action girl, which I'm relatively positive was the way Kevin Smith meant for the role to be played.
I haven't seen The Alphabet Killer, which is probably the only "serious" role she's landed - I also haven't seen Tru Calling, which is another possibility.
So yeah, all of her roles that I've seen have been over-acted caricatured action girls. None of her characters have had depth, or if they did I wasn't interested enough to actually pay attention to them (Angel & Buffy weren't "deep"... they were "dramatic", which is what deep would be if it was poorly scripted/blocked/acted).

I don't dislike them (I own all three but tend to be anti-Whedon because there are better arc shows and I enjoy tweeking people), I just don't think she's a decent actor in them.

Surely you didn't mean to include Bring It On, in your list of favorites?
On topic a bit. I'm a Burn Notice fan as well, the narrative I think gives it a nerdy appeal. I did read an article a few months ago (I think from the WSJ) about the USA network's somewhat canned requirements for their shows. It's an interesting read if you can dig it up.

Perhaps not in terms of quality acting, but I enjoyed that movie regardless.

The director's commentary is pretty awesome. Most of it is basically "I have a fetish for cheerleaders so I made this movie."
