Everyone seems to be going on about how amazing it is. Think we're seeing it tonight purely because it's been hyped up so much by everyone!

Guess that makes a third movie released recently that I need to see.
WTB more time.
I was somewhat scared that it would turn out to be like the wolverine origin movie.

Re: X Men: First Class
yea, I was telling my gf how I was worried about how this movie would turn out. If they stuck to the story of the relationship between xavier and magneto, it would work, and they did, and it does.
I was also worried that instead of keeping it more like a drama, they'd go the route of the last two, and make it a "comic book" movie, but again, they kept it real, as it were.

Magneto was... awesome. And after seeing Professor X. in First Class, they really sold him short in the first three movies.

We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

I'll be honest, these reviews are shocking. I guess I'll have to go see it now...

Im with Sabby Poo on this, the preview for it looked...less than thrilling. But, if you guys liked it, I may have to go see it.

Re: X Men: First Class
The only real problem I had with it was the fact that I saw it in a Korean theater, so all the times there are subtitles(There are scenes in German, French, Spanish, and Russian), I was forced to mostly figure things out on body language. Didn't detract too much and mostly mattered the first 30 mins or so. Same thing happened when I saw Avatar off base and they showed the Na'vi subtitles in Hangul.
I know enough of the comics original storyline to know where they changed things, but internally in the movie everything is fairly consistent and cohesive so I didn't have a problem with it. None of it was anywhere near as big a change as, say, how Jean becomes the Phoenix in X-men 3.

Exactly how I felt, so we went to see it tonight, in a word... awesome.
Sure there were some continuity issues with the comics (as there always will be, no problem there to be honest), and a few with the first 2 X movies but damn, the acting was great, the intelligence, emotion, script it was all there, a really great movie that left me wanting to see a follow on.
Oh, and the cameos kicked ass. Everyone who has seen it knows which was best as well

The only major continuity issue within the movie was as follows:
The part where Mystique turns into Shaw while wearing the helmet, but she'd never seen the helmet before...

I really liked it, the best movie I have seen in a long time. I think there have been so many not-so-great movies in theaters that my standards were lowered really badly. When I saw this I was like "Why can't all movies be like this?"
Was I the only one that was bothered by Mystique's face? I mean, that girl's not bad looking or anything, she just makes a weird looking Mystique. I think it was because whoever they had play her in the previous movies had such a sleek narrow face that it was weird seeing a much more rounded face.

yea, I noticed that too.
and I can agree with the Mystique thing. She was kinda too cute, as it were, for Mystique. Mystique is not cutehot, she's sexyhot.

Aren't these younger versions of the X-Men we know from the trilogy? The cutehot thing would work in that sense!
And, I haven't seen the movie. I'm still debating on whether or not to see it in theaters or wait for a Blu-Ray release.
