That the government released that info. It's hard to make a case to release that information while not releasing the photos for fear of a backlash.

Well, releasing this info can certainly hurt the credibility of Bin Laden. His actual followers probably won't believe it, but those who were... "sympathetic" to his cause may be less so after hearing that he had a stash of porn.

It seems, incredibly unlikely that any sympathizer of Bin Laden would suddenly forsake him over this nugget of information provided by the great satan. To the contrary, it's far more likely to cause more of a backlash than the pics, without any particular benefit.
