I just want to tell you that "For Those Interested" is a terrible choice of title. How will I know if I am interested if you don't tell me what in earth is in the thread?

There's something wrong with the idea of a pokemon-themed drinking party, but I just can't put my finger on it.

The first Pokémon game I played was Gold (on my good old fat Game Boy !) I really loved it, spent dozens of hours on it.
But when tried to play Ruby, and then Diamond, I was just too annoyed by the archaic combat system and the random encounters to keep playing for long, so I ended up selling them both.
And so I won't even try Black/White because I know I'll be annoyed just like with the previous two.

First game was blue, then yellow, then gold/silver/crystal. Don't remember if I ever played ruby or sapphire, but haven't played any more recently than those.

It really is the same game over and over again
The party was fun :O It was much more pokemon and less drinking than I had imagined, more of a "Pokemon tipsy party", just drinking a little while sitting around playing pokemon and chatting. Someone had made a rainbow cake, it was pretty awesome.
