wtf, who came up with this acronym?
I did, because people kept incorrectly referring to the 102.4% "avoidance" cap.
Everyone knows the avoidance cap is 101.8%. Unless you are a Bear then it is 101.2%.

Re: LoH off the GCD ... !!
I was wondering why people were all apparently (still) gearing around the corpse tongue coin..."Haven't they got a single cataclysm tanking trinket yet?!"
I don't see why we can't just say "I'm gearing for unhittability". Sounds technical so we automatically sound like we know what we are talking about, and the laymen think we can't be hit by anything so we must be REALLY AWESOME.
OR "I'm gearing for PDMB >= 102.4%"
Oh, and I didn't use LoH once on myself this evening,

I used "block cap", but since you can't block cap (for most people), saying that you should gear towards the block cap was confusing. "Gear for combat table coverage" makes more sense.
The other option pre-4.0.6 was to gear for maximum damage reduction, which is different slightly than CTC because of the 40% vs 100% block / avoidance difference. Hence you could gear for CTC or MDR.

At least the "defense cap" is gone too. Hurray.
I guess if I play my paladins again I'll have to add Forbearance indicators to Grid now

Long Live CTC.
Especially since it's immediate meaning is sensical to the layman while older equivalent words are not.

Pretty much this, although the layman would still have to understand Combat Tables. Which is still kind of odd, given the "top" is greater than 100% ...

I'm sorry, any acronym of the format C<consonant>C resolves to CQC (Close Quarters Combat) in my head.

Things like that sound a lot more fun when looking back at my military career. At the time I am fairly certain I probably complained a lot while having to do CQB (close quarters battle) training.

Technically the "top" of the combat table isn't 102.4%. It's exactly 100%.
I prefer CTC primarily because it's specific and clear. "Block cap" is vague enough that it's frequently misunderstood, and "uncrushable" relies on knowledge of a mechanic that hasn't bee relevant since 2008. CTC is unambiguous, and more importantly encourages people to think about things in terms of the underlying mechanic of attack table rolls.
I'm also biased though, since I came up with the term.

I prefer "blockcapped" for the same reason.
