Only ginger ale worth mentioning
Yes. Unfortunately it isn't easy to find here and rather expensive. Ginger ale is the only soda I will generally buy. It is great with rum or gin.

Not sure what being American had to do with the guy being an idiot.
Agreed

Another example of stupidity, or perhaps karmic justice:

Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, of Lamont, California, was killed by his own rooster. He even armed the bird with the knives that caused his mortal wound.

Man, I know people are berating me for pointing out the American angle, but WHY are all these ridiculous stories from the States??

You realize news services are localized, right?

Except that this story is posted everywhere, including internationally.

Well it's a fairly sensational story, but again that's a localized link grouped under US & Canada, and given the population of American posters here, the odds are pretty high that something like that would get mentioned. If you peruse the other categories regularly, I'm sure that there are plenty of examples of stupidity and much worse, but they are far more likely to go unmentioned here.

Well the USA has a population nearly the size of the EU, and so its bound to have more stupid stories than any individual country there.
Also, the people are descended from tea-wasting philistines. What do you expect from people who tried to make tea in the ocean???

Living in Canada and watching the news from the US is sort of like having an apartment above a family that has knockdown drag out rows and loud, smash-the-furniture parties every night. It's distracting and completely inescapable.

I realize you jest, but the point of the tea party was not to make tea, but to destroy things that we were taxed on. It was a protest against being taxed without having elected representatives: the Tea Tax was the new tax from Britain, and we were not keen on it.
And apparently we liked salty tea. (ew)
