Re: A Call to Arms - Cataclysm Mechanics testing
This post on EJ mentioned that Consecration should gains ticks as you get more haste, just like other DoTs. I wasn't aware that this was the case for Consecration, and as a result the MATLAB model doesn't include this effect. We should only have 5% spell haste from raid buffs, so this is probably irrelevant in most cases (unglyphed Cons doesn't gain a tick, glyphed Cons would gain one if the game uses round() but I suspect it uses floor()), but I'd like to include it just for the sake of accuracy.
Cons haste testing:
Cons haste testing:
- Spec: any (Ret or Prot is fine)
- Glyphs: any, but Consecration major glyph is preferred
- Seal: irrelevant, Insight probably sensible though for mana
- target: any one dummy (debuffs, level irrelevant).
- gear: multiple sets at different haste levels:
- 0% haste (naked, no buffs)
- 5%-8% haste (anywhere between 640 and 1020 rating, or find a friend to give you Wrath of Air totem)
- 9%-16% haste (1152-2048 rating, or Judgements of the Pure active, or JotP+WoA)
- 17%+ haste (2177+ rating, or JotP and 940+ rating, or JotP+WoA+286+ rating, or Heroism/Bloodlust active)
- attack sequence: Cons only
- goal: Cast a single Consecration at each haste level and write down your character's spell haste %.
- Upload/post log, haste %'s, and the glyphs/spec you used.

Theck, do update the leading post. What we need right now is an analysis of the PTR changes : triggers+seals+JotJ (high priority), Consecration+Avalanche (medium priority). Any other issues should be delayed until 4.0.6 goes live.

Doing so now.

Just to clarify, this was on live (4.0.3a), right? Or was it PTR?

First post updated. Let me know if I overlooked anything. I rearranged the "results" area a bit to try and keep each individual result chronological, and added a 'compiled' section for grouping results that go together (i.e. PPM and Seal behavior).
<edit> Can we add SotR to the seal testing? I know it procs SoT/SoR on live, but I'm not sure if we've tested SoJ/SoI.

Joking aside, the bugger still stands - FW must simply be replaced with Avalanche.
@Theck : WoG/SoI/modifiers are all sorted out, take down any mention of them from the front page.
Doh!
I wondered if something was up when I looked at my rather boring parse and didn't see anything we didn't already know. Of course, I said 'bah, what do I know' and merrily judged the bejeebers out of that target dummy. Good to hear you guys got what you needed.

Requesting one additional test on the latest PTR build.
This test is extremely simple, and as such it's of highest priority.
- talent build : irrelevant
- gear : naked, the weapon choice is irrelevant
- seal : irrelevant
- target : any boss-level dummy (debuffs are irrelevant)
- attack sequence : HotR/J (autoattacks are irrelevant) from the front of the dummy
- goal : cast precisely 20 HotR (or 30, if you want a higher degree of accuracy)
This test is extremely simple, and as such it's of highest priority.

Re: A Call to Arms - Cataclysm Mechanics testing
*Moved from Theck's MATLAB thread*
Despite it has been said HotR physical portion can't miss, It actually does, i've run a test to find out how hit/expertise affects it.
This is what I actually found out:
- Hammer of the Righteous can miss, dodge, parry
- If the physical portion misses, is dodged or parried, no holy nova damage is applied.
- Holy nova damage can separately miss (spell hit) upon a physical hit, on each target.
- You always gain a charge of Holy Power, even if the Hammer doesn't land.
The odd is, if the physical part doesn't hit, is dodgied or parried, there's no report at all on logs, no message at all.
The only trace left is that Holy Power charge gained.
So, I worked around it rotating HotR and WoG(1HoPow). WoG casts would act as a counter for HotR casts.
I eventually added some Judgement for mana. I've run the test for about an hour.
Parse: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/lz2vwi19nvuqbgg3/details/0/#tab-dmgspell
As you can see I gained 825 HoPow charges, while only 607 HotR(phys) landed.
As I said, no dodge/parry/miss is reported. Though, you can easily calculate the total miss/dodge/parry percentage is 26%.
Theoretical result would be 6,50% dodge + 14% parry + 8% miss = 28%.
Another evidence is the presence of Hit(Blocked), which suppose an Attack Table roll.
About the HotR(holy) component, you can see it only appears if HotR(phys) has landed, though it can misses separately.
Miss chance is precisely 9% (56/607), same as theory (17% -8% from being Protadins).
Note: this is not the PTR report Tlitp asked for, this is live test I previously did myself.

B 4.43 6.06
H 58.98 57.09
B (C) 0.57 0.00
H (C) 7.52 10.43
A chi-squared test gives a two-tailed P over 0.6 (MC-simmed multinomial); statistically, the hypothesis that physHotR obeys the two-roll attack table appears to be valid.- SD part : not getting any proc in 22 "miss" events has a probability of ~2e-7. Reconfirmed.
- GrCr part : not getting any proc in 219 "miss" events has a probability of ~6e-22. Reconfirmed.

Requesting a CS test on the latest PTR build :
Avoid STR/AP procs, report total AP/hit/exp, upload the CL. Thanks.
- talent build : anything with 2/2 WotL and 3/3 Crusade
- gear : a regular Prot-centric set, under three restrictions
- seal : Insight
- buffs : Blessing of Might
- target : any boss-level dummy (debuffs are irrelevant, dealing with the phys.dmg.taken class is trivial)
- attack sequence : only CS(+AA), from the front of the dummy
- goal : precisely 50 CS casts
Avoid STR/AP procs, report total AP/hit/exp, upload the CL. Thanks.

(sorry, i just uploaded to my WoL account as I was feeling lazy and didn't want to make another, if it's an issue let me know and i'll make another account/upload the log).
Hit the raid boss in Org, so the nova portion was hitting one of the other dummies as well. Should have been 30 HotR casts. With judgement in between.
Naked, just wearing a http://www.wowhead.com/item=59333
Let me know if i messed anything up/you need more
EDIT: Attempted to do the logs for the 'Seals on PTR' test as well.
Spec w 0/2 JotJ
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/35ku5kgnu8mdhxip/
Spec w 2/2 JotJ
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/xuu7 ... ?s=64&e=97
Definitely saw 2 stacks of censure get applied with a single judgement (faced away from the target so there would be no auto-attack as well)
I only had a 3.5 speed 2h on me so I hope that doesn't mess anything up. Again, I apologize if I screwed up any of the tests. Let me know and I can try to correct it if I have time before raiding tonight.

Re: A Call to Arms - Cataclysm Mechanics testing
That's on b13596, right ?
Results so far :
The testing of seals should continue as follows :
Results so far :
- phys.HotR can be missed/dodged/parried, but there is no corresponding entry in the CL; unlike on live, if it fails to connect it does not grant HoPow
- HoW triggers all seals
- JotJ doesn't seem to trigger any seal (until now, only confirmed on R and J)
The testing of seals should continue as follows :
- HoW has been analyzed, so the target of choice should now be any low-lvl dummy
- test AS and HotR as triggers; use the following sequence :
- Code: Select all
switch to SoR-one AS-switch to SoJ-one AS-switch to SoT-fully stack Censure-one AS-switch to SoI-ten AS
(...)
repeat for HotR
- using a build with 2/2 JotJ :
- Code: Select all
switch to SoI-ten J-switch to SoT-fully stack Censure-one J

This would be a pretty big bug if it were true. Are we sure this is the case, or is it possible that when HotR fails to generate a combat log entry, the HoPo gain also doesn't get recorded?
