Re: [10] Omnitron Defense System
I know the basic strategy for single tank.
What I need is a video to show my guildmates how to do. They are "slow" to understand

I didn't see this covered here... but are you aware you can cancel acquiring target entirely depending on the class selected for it? A mage's iceblock, paladin bubble, or hunter FD will cancel the cast from Magmatron entirely so long as you get it off before he starts shooting at you.

rogues can either vanish or cloak out of it too, I believe.

Re: [10] Omnitron Defense System
Question on the mechanics for the shields.
A raid member said that the shields go down after about 10 seconds of being on the boss. I was under the impression that once the shield was cast it was up until the tron became inactive.
Are they dpsable again after 10 seconds?

Arcanotron's shield is spell stealable and re-appears once he's been hit (I think) so that you can spell steal it again and stack it up high on your mages. This is not true for the other ones and their shield stays up until they go inactive or it blows up.

That's what I suspected. Thanks for confirming.

The second half here is not true. All of the shields last 10 seconds. After that point all sorts of cleave/dots can be used. For example, click on: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=79900 and look under Buff.

I'm a bit confused by that then. I swear I've seen shields break longer than ten seconds after they've formed.

My experience is the same as Kits ... the shields come up for about 10 seconds, we stop attacking that target, and then start again when it's over.
The extra dps on the target (especially if you can get both into the poison cloud) makes this fight a lot easier.
The shields are visible when up and it's easy to see when they blink off.

Re: [10] Omnitron Defense System
Just confirming as well that the shields do NOT stay up until they deactivate. I'm usually paying attention to it so I know when I can CS again to start building up Holy Power for WoG, Toxitron's is definitely only 10 seconds, I think it's the same or similar for the others as well.

Wow, okay. This changes the entire way I'm going to do the fight next time.

Re: [10] Omnitron Defense System
Just though I'd post here about a headache we had and how we worked around it.
Our guild started running 10 mans a couple of weeks ago, and I've been MTing with a Druid OT, it worked out this way purely due to a cooldown competition on Magmaw (which as a pally I won hands down
)
The problem was that when the golem he was tanking put it's shield up and the raid moved to the newly active one, he would end up standing there just getting beat on. I'm not familiar with Druid tanking but he explained to me that he loses a lot of mitigation by not being able to use one of his damaging skills because of the shields. Our healers mirrored his concerns, commenting on his damage taken escalating.
We decided to take a crack at making him MT each golem, and as a new one would activate I would taunt the previous one off him, and sit it out of the way. This afforded me time to watch my cooldowns, watch the fight, voice anything I felt the raid needed to be aware of, and once the golems shield dropped (10 energy) using my HoPo to WOG myself or anyone else in the raid that had started to dip.
Surprisingly for us, it worked first try.
