Re: Net Neutrality Passes FCC
In my area, when the phone company started bundling services and went with DirecTV, the cable company thought "Oh shit, now we need satellite TV too!" and went with Dish. I'm not sure who they partner with to provide digital telephone service for their bundles, though. Fairly certain it's not Vonage.

Yeah the phone and satellite thing is nothing new and it actually makes sense. The cable company and satellite thing is kind of strange, unless the satellite is providing a service that the cable company can not for some reason. Either way though it doesn't matter, the data is going over satellite, not the phone/cable networks so it's still viable competition.Fivelives wrote:In my area, when the phone company started bundling services and went with DirecTV, the cable company thought "Oh shit, now we need satellite TV too!" and went with Dish. Honestly, I think governments should adopt a model of taking (buying) ownership of the infrastructure, then they can open that up to significant competition.
