Health per Stamina... didn't it change?

Postby Rasmfrackn » Thu Dec 02, 2010 12:14 pm

I thought they beefed up the health per stamina conversion from 10/1 to like 14/1 or 15/1 a couple months ago in the beta. I can't find any reference to it, though. Obviously this didn't go live even in 4.0.3a, but will it? If so, does anyone know when? I could see it kicking in at 81, or gradually building by +1/stam per level up to 85 or something, but without a reference I have no idea. Maybe they just rebudgeted gear and gave it more raw stamina or something...

Basically, I thought tanks went from ~120k to ~160k overnight or something via a patch, or am I just misremembering that entirely?

IIRC, the buff is 14/1 hp/stam. But I thought it /did/ go live?

I remember it too, at least on beta. But I'm fairly certain it didn't go live with 4.0.3a. Looking at my armory, I have 4824 stamina, and the tooltip says "increases health by 48060." This is exactly 10*(4828-18), or the expected hit point total for a 1 stamina -> 10 hit points conversion.

The armory could be in error, of course, but I don't remember seeing an increase of 19k health when I logged in the past few days. Though to be fair, I didn't look that closely.

Otherwise, we have absolutely no information about the sta->HP buff. We don't know when/if it's going to be implemented, or whether it was a temporary boost for beta to hurry along the raid testing.

hey,

maybe its a level 85 only change? And scales with level?
e.g. :
Level 80 & 81 -> 10 HP / Sta
Level 82 -> 11 HP / Sta
Level 83 -> 12
Level 84 -> 13
Level 85 -> 14 HP / Sta

Bye, RedAces.

I'm guessing it is similar to the Parry from Strength thing in that it kicks in at a certain level. My lowbie warrior rocks 5% parry at all times.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

In beta, when the hp/stam ratio changed, I remember checking both an 85lvl and an 80lvl paladin. While the first one got 14 hps per stam, the one at 80lvl was still at 10 hps per stam. So it either scales while lvling, something like RedAces described, or it just goes from 10 to 14 when hitting 85. Therefore, we can't be sure if it went live until we'll reach 85.

Well, I suppose it makes sense that we don't really need the HP buff pre-Cata zones. It would make 1 to 60 even more ridiculously easy that it already is.

I'm going to assume that it's gradual, because suddenly gaining (roughly) an extra 40% HP the moment you dinged 85 would be pretty ridiculous.

yeah thats why I think the aforementiont steady increase will be reality if and only if the 14HP / Sta Change for level 85 is live. (As said it could just be a temp buff for heroic raid testing or w/e).

Bye, RedAces.
