Kysen :
  • confirmed the expected behavior of JotJ (one point is enough to proc seals)
  • exact fit for SoR (obs 114.965, exp 114.965)
  • good fit for JoR (obs 2398.965, exp 2401.055). Oddly, (0.2AP+0.32SP) seems to match better than (1+0.2AP+0.32SP).
  • no evidence of "munching", even in high-haste gear

Theck : going for confirmation of triggers ? Try Fiery Weapon (or Icebreaker) on the Brunnhildar Axe.

Yup, Fiery seems like a good option. Is the PPM known? I suspect it's probably around 5, but if we don't know for sure we'll have to test it.

<edit> Also, what the hell is "munching" so I can update the list?

The boss-level dummies are now level 88, right ? A good opportunity to retest GrCr/SD :
  • spec : any, with 2/2 GrCr and 2/2 SD
  • gear : naked (secure in time these two low-lvl weapons, we'll need them later on : axe / sword)
  • seal : Insight
  • target : any isolated boss-level dummy
  • attack sequence : cast HotR/J on cooldown, attacking from the front
  • goal : stop after at least 30 dodge+parry events on HotR (the physical component is important here, and you can track it directly), proceed to the second part
    1. equip your regular prot set
    2. equip the low-lvl axe
    3. cast SoJustice
    4. cast 1 HotR and 1 J on the dummy (obviously, they shouldn't fail to connect - repeat as necessary)
    5. equip the low-lvl sword
    6. cast SoInsight
    7. cast 1 HotR
    8. report your total AP/SP

EDIT : I should probably add that the above wall of text actually implies ~10 mins of testing.

I got a question. During the naked part of the testing, what weapon should we use, or u expect HotR to work with nothing on hand.

I believe that any white weapon will work for the test he's interested in.

Klaud's first test :
  • 221 AA, all miss/dodge/parry/glancing. The dummy is indeed level 88.
  • 64 physHotr, all hit the dummy. Which clearly indicates that the physical component cannot miss anymore. Bummer. (someone should really post about this on the Blizzard forums, to see if it's actually an intended change)

The next two :
  • physHotR is still not normalized
  • JoJ/JoI work as expected

On the other hand, we need a different approach for GrCr/SD :
  • spec : any with 2/2 GrCr and 2/2 SD
  • gear : any, with low hit/exp
  • seal : Righteousness
  • target : boss-level dummy (the debuffs are irrelevant, keep hitting even if it's struck by other players)
  • attack sequence : CS/J, attacking from the front
  • goal : stop after 10 mins, upload the CL

Forgot to include my AP/SP in the original entry, but 3334 AP is spot on, however, I have 1045 SP. I logged off with the equipment I used for the last tests.

I noticed that the tooltip you linked for the Shortsword and the one on Wowarmory are different.
On your tooltip it reads
Code: Select all
2-5 Dmg             2.6 Speed
1.3 Damage per sec

but on wowarmory, the stats are:
Code: Select all
2-4 Dmg              2.6 Speed
1.2 Damage per sec

I'll work on the next case tomorrow.

Festina lente, they say. I'm pressed by time right now, I've screwed the SP computation. With 1045, everything is normal.

10 min of CS/J with Seal of Righteousness
Hit 91 (2.96%)
Exp 73 (9)

If you need me to go lower on hit/expertise, let me know.

Klaudandus :
  • J parse; not getting at least one proc from 9 events has a probability of ~0.2%. It likely has the same behavior, depending on trigger connects.
  • CS parse; not getting at least one proc from 85 events has a probability of 5e-9. If the former was a likely conclusion, this one is clear as daylight.

Let's finish off JotJ :
  • spec : any, with at least one point in JotJ
  • gear : anything, having equipped a Battle Axe with Fiery Weapon on it (for people with alts, BAR is fine as long as it has the enchant on it)
  • seal : Righteousness
  • target : any low-lvl dummy (debuffs are irrelevant)
  • attack sequence : only J, cast it on cooldown (from outside of melee range)
  • goal : stop after 10 mins, upload the CL
  • notes : if you happen to have a low level (70 or lower) paladin, it's even better (Fiery Weapon shouldn't scale with level, but it's safer to simply ignore the potential nuisance)

Cross-post, it's better suited here. Running this query :

The last one is a little odd, in that the E4E proc lags the Blade Tempest by a bit, but it's still well before the following melee attack. It seems E4E can proc off of Blade Tempest. The value is right around 30% of the damage taken.

Since Blade Tempest is channeled, it's probably coded like a spell, and thus can trigger E4E even though it's physical damage. What this probably means is that E4E's tooltip is misleading; rather than triggering off of magical damage, it triggers off of damage caused by spells or spell-like abilities, regardless of what the damage type is.

Glyph of the Long Word testing

In order to change the AP/SP, equip a SP weapon or replace a STA/mast trinket with a STR/INT one (avoid procs). For each point : cast one WoG, then report total AP/total SP/WoG output. Thanks.

Note that the overheal bubble is listed in the combat log now, so you can read off the exact magnitude of the shield. I believe it's listed as Guarded by the Light.
