QFT.

Neither of them was a good relationship for her imo. Based on pure eye candy appeal Spike wins hands down in my book. However, who people find attractive is incredibly subjective. The friend I always used to watch Buffy with loved Angel, but then again she always did like her men a little Neanderthal.

On a slightly Buffy-related note we finally watched Boondock Saints II recently. Yes, it was as bad as everyone said. It was really weird realizing Julie Benz was playing the cop in the movie. It may have been slightly less terrible if she hadn't had that bad Southern accent.

I liked her in Dollhouse. Never really got into Buffy.

What a messed up ride Dollhouse was. Kinda crap, then steadily gets good, then gets really good, then gets kinda crap again, then turns up a little, then gets really bloody bad, then has a great finale episode.
I think Mr. Whedon honestly didn't know what to do with himself when he didn't get canceled first season.

He did get cancelled in the first season, then the execs were all "oops, so we didn't find anything to replace you with. Here, you can have another season", so he had to scramble for it. Then he got cancelled again halfway through the second season and the execs said "for really real this time. We're srs!" so the series got a gainax ending.

I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan. However, Firefly / Serenity were the shiznit. And I watched all but the last two seasons of Buffy religously, and I wanted the Angel up until the Darla-Vampire has a baby and becomes human crap... >.<

I hate Fox. Seriously, they suck.

I couldn't do it. I gave up after two episodes.

My wife watches Bones pretty hardcore. Almost every time I see her watching it I'll make some comment about how Mr. Booth looks pretty good for not being on fire (when he's outside in the daylight), that apparently vampires CAN tank rather nicely, or that Bones should keep a stake ready for when they inevitably relieve the more than palpable sexual tension.

And all of which garner The Look™ from her.

This thread is now about Bones.

I don't think Bones & Boothe will ever hook up. That's the last remaining bit of dramatic tension between the cast members - Angela and Hodgins got married, Zack has been gone for a long time now, and the cases stopped being new and interesting a long time ago. The rotating interns thing never allows any of them to be as well-developed as Zack, and they end up being one-dimensional characters where each one has a quirk and sorta sticks to it - like an episode of Who's Line Is It, Anyway? where the "contestants" are given one-line descriptions of characters to improv. Sweets and Daisy might be interesting, it'll remain to be seen what the writers do with them, and Camille doesn't really get enough screen time to get me interested in her.

I think Bones might be on for another season or two, but that's about it. They've already gone through all of the standard tv drama tropes, so there's really not much left - and the show was never about the cases as much as it was about the characters.

Very much this, repeat for every other good show worth watching.

Never really watched Buffy, so I don't really care. Watched Angel a lot though, since it came on when I was getting up for school. David Boreanaz is one of my favorite tv actors.

I liked Buffy but I'm not a big enough fanboi to immediately see a reboot as a bad thing but as some people have mentioned, did Buffy really need one? Got to wait to see who's going to be in it I suppose.

I liked the series Angel quite a lot. Bones is one of my favorite shows (I only watch them after they've come out on DVD, so I'm current through season 5) and they seem to handle the whole sexual tension / romance shit fairly well but it is getting a bit long in the tooth. I felt similar with the series Chuck but they caved in after 3 seasons.

This.

Sadly I never could get into Bones, the only bit I really liked was Stephen Fry, but that's because I can't not like him.

I am a big fan of all Joss's work and having watched 90% of Buffy and having a sister that has watched 120% of it and its spin off's I really hope they kill this reboot idea. Especially seeing how everyone will just tie it ti Twilight being so soon after.

Bones is one of the best shows on TV. As long as they can keep the tension going it will remain so. It is a modern day 'Moonlighting'.

I never cared hugely for Buffy beyond the original movie but Firefly/Serenity are awesome.

I think I found something that I have more than Brett Favre.

Whedon should be beaten for this over the top terrible melodramatic pile of molten turds that captivated so many people.

I don't get why people liked Buffy or Angel. Terrible acting. Terrible effects. Terrible Acting. Sara Michelle Gellar. What about this show was there to like? At least with Angel they got rid of SMG, or at least I never saw her on the few episodes that i watched.

Don't get me wrong, I love vampires, and demons, and all that jazz, they can be great parts to fantastic entertainment. But, I would never put those two shows and factastic entertainment in the same breath...... Unless I was saying

Joss Whedon's shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel are classic examples of how to fall short when trying to make fantastic entertainment.

That statement is the only way you could possibly use fantastic entertainment regarding those two heaps of cow shit.

The effects were a product of their time and a limited budget. They got considerably better in later seasons because he had money to work with. In any event, cheesy effects don't usually make or break a show.

The acting was nothing special, but I don't remember it being as terrible as you make it out to be. A lot of that is subjective anyhow.

The show succeeded largely because Joss writes interesting characters. At least in my case, that's what kept me watching the series.

It's also worth noting that one of the major goals of the show was to present a strong heroine, which was something that wasn't done often enough on television when Buffy came out. Gilmore Girls was created based on a similar premise, from what I'm told.

So, what I'm getting (and I may be wrong), but Shoju hates a lot of TV and movies.

That could possibly be. I never found anything about that show to be "good" or "engaging". I hate overacting, which is what I felt 90% of the show was. I never found the writing to be interesting at all.

You could probably say that I'm a snob when it comes to my TV and Movies. Bad acting / Over acting / Bad effects (including those bad because you are trying to make it "cool" on a shoestring budget) kill it for me.

If it isn't believable because of bad acting, terrible lines, or bad effects, I'm immediately uninterested. Yes, I will readily admit that it is an entirely subjective process.

For Example. I'm a huge Star Wars fan. I have been since I was a kid. I hate EPIV with a passion. Bad effects, bad costumes (look at vader's mask) and HORRID LINES. I can't watch it anymore.

If I had to make a list of TV shows that I currently enjoy

The Walking Dead
Rescue Me (summer Show)
Justified

I could go into a list of movies, but that would get lengthy...

Don't get me wrong, Whedon did something right because Firefly/Serenity REALLY did it for me, and it wasn't just because it was Sci-Fi. The stories were far more interesting to me, and the characters/actors were better.
