It looks interesting but it being directed by the the guy who did Pineapple Express(David Gordon Green) has me a bit worried since I've never been a particular fan of any of his movies (Pineapple Express was supremely unfunny to me).

Wait until high school when your friends start peer pressuring you into smoking pot. It gets a lot funnier.

My main issue with Pineapple Express was it felt like I was watching a bunch of guys getting high and having tons of fun with me just watching. In contrast with Superbad I felt immersed (sp) in the fun they were having during the movie.

Maybe like you said it'd be funnier if I smoked pot.

It's approaching a caricature, how small their mouths are and how big and blocky their jaws are. It's jarring, like diving into a "heated" pool in the winter, only to find out that the heater's been on the fritz for a week.

Yes, which means you do see something wrong with them. If it was perfectly fine it wouldn't be jarring. It'd be "pleasantly surprising" or "not worth of making note" or "irrelevant to the judgment"
