Y'all are most welcome to continue discussing comparative block mechanics. I've reposted this guide-in-process in the guide forum and will continue with it there, as Cata is no longer a beta discussion but now impending reality.

just looked at the shield spikes again..from earlier in this thread.

it's just a 5 second cast time to make one....that being said, with them increasing threat...putting a shield spike on said shield is probably not a big deal at all now.

why do they even have something as pointless as a shield spike in the game? rant over.

With consecration costing much more, they'll be nice for farming low level mobs for cloth.

holy wrath? HotR? i think we've got better tools to nuke low level things in instances

Not like the other Shield Enchants are that amazing. 160 Armor or 40 Block Rating(which is less than .5% chance to Block added).

That's 0.5% closer to the block cap. Can't get that big of a jump with anything else outside of reforging.
