[4.0.1] T9 4P Bonus Viability
So I was wondering today weather sacrificing quiet some avoidance & HP for the T9 4p bonus was worth it.
The 4p bonus would bring Divine Protection on a 30 seconds cd. So that means Every minute you are taking 20% less damage for 20 seconds.
My question is, is it worth the less on avoidance & HP?

T9 v T10
The stats you're missing out on downgrading to T9 are:
181 Sta
106 Str
1260 Armor
8 Dodge
39 Expertise
8 Hit
and you would gain
71 Parry
Granted, this is comparing all 5 pieces of the set since you can mix and match the one left-over piece. That's a fairly good chunk of change there. Also depends if you're talking 245v251 or 264

or 258 v 264 for those who are lucky enough to have 258 T9 pieces. (I'm not one of those :< )

So that means sacrificing about 2k hp and about 1% physical dmg reduction from armor for mitigating 20% dmg for 33% of the time.
- 2k hp
- 1% physical dmg reduction
-- VS --
- 20% dmg reduction for 33% of the time
- about 1.2% avoidance
(numbers might be a little off)
So would it be worth going for the t9 in the 245v251 scenario.

It's viable for dedicated insanity

Personally I wouldn't make that trade, it's just too big. Besides, the button might not be available when you need it the most, or you might save it too long and waste that reduction.

obviously we're beyond 4.0.1 now, but was your alternate gear only 251? most gear including a lot of easy to acquire vendor gear is 264 yielding a lot more itemization as well. i've thought about the trade off as well, but it just wasn't there for something minus a dedicated insanity run since my other tank gear is mostly 277. the trade off between 245 and 251 may be close enough to consider for certain fights... maybe even LK regular with the DS every strike, but 20% reduction on a big big hit still you don't want to lose hp if you can help it.
