Blizzcon, Now with T-shirt poll!

Re: Blizzcon, Now with T-shirt poll!
Bleh, the exclusive sale was a waste of time really. Aside from the fact Blizzard didn't even get it working on correctly, a few of items (like the t-shirts) won't ship until the 22nd anyway. Might as well wait in line at Blizzcon instead of paying $10 for shipping.
For some reason Horde merchandise also cost more than their Alliance counterpart.

While tickets to the convention are currently sold out, viewers can watch at home by ordering a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, offering over 50 hours of event coverage (including Tenacious D’s performance) globally over the Internet and also on DIRECTV® in the United States.
Tenacious D is made up of musical visionaries Jack Black and Kyle Gass. After forming in 1994, the duo rose to rock god-dom following the release of the HBO cult-hit series Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth. Since then, Tenacious D has released two albums and a pair of live DVDs, sold out arenas around the world, and starred in their own feature-length movie, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny. At the BlizzCon closing ceremony on October 23, the band will perform an earth-shattering set that includes the debut of new, soon-to-be-legendary songs.
“The best way to wrap up two days of epic entertainment is with an epic rock concert—and few bands fit the bill like Tenacious D,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re looking forward to a great show and can’t wait to see what Jack and Kyle have in store for everyone attending BlizzCon and watching from home.”
In addition to serving as a gathering place for the Blizzard Entertainment gaming communities, BlizzCon will have an array of activities, including discussion panels, competitive and casual tournaments, contests, hands-on playtime with current and upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games, and more. Viewers at home can order a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket for $39.95 USD, available as a multi-channel Internet stream around the world (pricing and availability may vary by region) and also via DIRECTV in the United States. To keep pace with the continued growth of World of Warcraft as well as development on other Blizzard Entertainment games, the company is currently hiring for numerous open positions. I'm not seeing this for anything. What items are you referring to?

The horde beach towel and the pennant are 5 and 6 dollars more ($25/20, $38/32) than the alliance version.
$15 dollars for a Cataclysm poster just seems expensive when I received a WotLK poster for free at Blizzcon 08.

Re: Blizzcon, Now with T-shirt poll!
I'm so excited about Tenacious D! The problem is that I'm not that big in to concerts
I kind of had my hopes up for Lady Gaga.
I figure I will wait until Saturday night and see what I am doing and whether I want to keep doing that or go to the concert. I wonder if this year's is going to get locked out like last year's. Jack Black isn't as big as Ozzy but he's more awesome.
Also, I finally got my goddamn helmets done
They aren't as smooth and nice and perfected as I would want them to be, but no one is going to notice/care. This one is a bit big so I was trying to hold it up. I still need to pad the insides (going to be elevating this one about half an inch) and put elastic straps on the back. Also, blonde braids for lightbane. They look super cute and it makes me feel bad that I will be wearing Darkbane instead

Guess they ended up fixing it. But it did show different prices when the sale went live yesterday.

Perhaps we will do a new shirt for cataclysm release, so all the tankadins can wear it proudly while waiting in line at midnight for their Cata copy

Those wings are really sick, how'd you make them?

I followed JiaJem's wing tutorial:
http://www.jiajem.com/wings.html
for the basic structure and then altered it to the shape and size I wanted. I had to double enforce the wire (I wish I had tripple-enforced it) by braiding two strands together to make it strong enough to support how much bigger my wings were.
I used Yayahan's (both Jia and Yaya are very cosplay-internet famous) wings as a reference since they were closer to what I wanted.

The big thing I ran in to is that feathers are extremely expensive
The helmets were a lot more difficult to make, but since every feather had to be individually glued on the wings took a lot of time, glue gun burns, and frustration. But it will be worth it!
I'm sure I will have a lot more pictures after Blizzcon, but I really love how the helmets look with the tusks on them, I still have to paint the tusks though:
(I wish I had more time to make these perfect and get all the bumps and flaws out of them, someday I think I will sand the paint off and clean them up a bit)

Thanks!Yeah, tomorrow I plan to pad the insides, drill some holes in them for attachment straps, repaint the black helmet (I feel retarded, I can't seem to do something as simple as painting right... this is the second time I have had to sand the paint off it), make tusks for the helmets, and the very last step will be to add the mesh coverings
I don't want to risk anything getting on them to accidentally cover them up or something. I still have a lot of work to do...
Tomorrow the wings will be on their way to AnaheimI still need to figure out how to make the straps not be so troublesome (they like to fall down and that causes major problems), and I still need to make belts. I hope to have everything done by this Friday.
Wow that's impressive.

Approx. how long does it take for a shirt/hoodie to arrive? And is there a way to next day it?
