Pest Control Failure in Brooklyn
Another brilliant idea down the drain.
Didn't the mongoose rat control experiment back in Hawaii taught them anything?
A few years ago, officials in Brooklyn, New York came up with a seemingly brilliant idea to deal with the rat-infestation problem in their borough: release opossums into the neighborhood to eat the rats. Once the rat population disappeared, officials surmised, the opossums would have nothing to eat and would disappear as well.
Like most ham-handed government efforts at social engineering, this one backfired: the opossums showed no interest in the rats, taking instead to rummaging through trash for food. Meanwhile, they procreated like mad. Result: Brooklyn is now overrun with rats and opossums.
Didn't the mongoose rat control experiment back in Hawaii taught them anything?

If I've learned anything from cartoons, the solution to this problem is introducing the natural predator of the opossum into the system now.

Hmm, surprised it didn't work. After all, releasing dogs into australia to take care of the rabbits worked. There aren't any more wild dogs in Australia either.
Oh, wait....

But that one is okay, Aubade loves cats, and the world revolves around Aubade so it's okay.

This kind of escalation can only end with rednecks and firearms; the only natural predator of the most dangerous animals.
Ghostcrawler: Right. If you are trying to AE tank and a bad dps is attacking the wrong target and dies, we call that justice.

Still remember this old Chinese bed bug joke.
This guy walked by someone selling the money backed guarantee bed bug pills, and bought some. He place the pills by the bed thinking that it's some sort of poison bait. He stilled got bitten. He went back to the vendor demanding the money back. The seller told him that he didn't follow the instruction: Take the bed bug, and crammed the pill down their throat. Money back guarantee.

In NYC it would be cabbies and questionable streetside meat cart vendors.
