I can't imagine the payoffs for these currencies will have very good reward ratios. Frankly, I'd rather have huge numbers of old, useless stuff, but that's because I'm like one of those people on Hoarders. I'm bummed that all of my BG marks of honor are going to be STOLEN from me.

Well, right now you can translate them to gold easily enough. Buy TBC epic gems for 15 BoJ each, they vendor for 5g uncut and 6g cut. I'm not sure how that compares to the conversion they're doing, but it's easy enough to do.

Just out of curiosity, I have 2 questions.

1/ Do lvl80 heroic instance bosses now drop Justice points?

2/ Are justice points relevent in any way at 85? or are there simply 2 new sets of points they are using at the new level cap? (aka conquest / heroism points). I remember a post a long time ago saying they wanted "new content" points to be awarded as conquest or something, and "previous content" to be awarded as heroism points - at new content launch, all previous conquest points would then be downgraded and added to your heroism points.

1) Yes. Also if you're of an appropriate level for TBC content you can get Justice Points from TBC heroics and raids too.
2) They're the same points as the baseline Cataclysm ones. They've renamed Hero Points to Justice Points.

Follow-up question.

Will farming for justice points now will allow us to purchase heroic badge gear once we get to 85 without having to farm the 85 heroics for the points? Just trying to figure out in advance how worthwhile it will be to get back to farming heroics a bit to prepare for cata.

It seems that way from posts I've read by the CMs. It's likely we'll only be able to save up enough points to buy a low amount of gear though.

The move from the soft to hard cap will most likely make farming for them quite useless.

A word of caution: I recall Arena Point stockpiles being wiped when people hit 71 in Wrath levelling. It strikes me that it's not impossible that they'll do the same when Cataclysm levelling gets under way.

* Emblem of Heroism = 5.5 gold each
* Emblem of Valor = 5.5 gold each
* Emblem of Conquest = 5.5 gold each
* Badge of Justice = 1.833 gold each


Your New Honor Points total will be the sum of the following amounts:

* Old Honor * 0.024
* Old Arena Points * 0.85
* Battleground Mark of Honor * 2.976
* Wintergrasp Mark of Honor * 19.08
* Stone Keeper Shard * 1.6
* Venture Coin * 3
* Spirit Shard * 1


Your Justice Points total will be equal to (Emblems of Triumph + Emblems of Frost ) * 2.75

To reach the soft cap of 4000 Justice Points you would need 1455 total EoT and EoFs. You can definitely farm now and get NOWHERE CLOSE to the soft cap, unless you have a lot of badges already.
