Fuck you, Chelios!

Yessss! :D I love Crank so hard. Apparently Gamer was made by the same guys.
I like to pretend that Death Race is a sequel to The Transporter.

Statham jumped the shark when he starred in an Uwe Boll movie.

But yeah, his movies are always either awesome (Transporter) or so bad it's good (Crank 2. Seriously, WTF?). I can pretend Dungeon Siege never happened.

One of the main complaints I heard about it was that it tried to be a serious action movie and a turn your brain off homage to the old school action movies at the same time which causes it to not be sure what it wants to do.

It doesn't matter. It has Jason Statham and Jet Li. It can do whatever the fuck it wants.

I hear whenever someone badmouths The Expendables something within 15 miles spontaneously combusts.

I couldn't care less about Jason Statham tbh. Probaly wasn't in the budget but they missed a ton of other action stars namely Samuel L Jackson, Vin Diesel, and Jackie Chan.

Pssh, they managed Arnold for a few seconds (at least that's how long I assume he's in the movie). You can't have Jackie Chan and Jet Li, I was pretty surprised at Jet Li but it's still awesome. Jackie Chan is more of a comedy-action guy in the US but Jet Li is seen as more serious.

I do wish that they had Vin Diesel or Sammy J, but they have Terry Crews so I'm happy with that. I bet there are some interesting stories behind the casting for that movie.

Mr. Statham can't jump the shark, he is the shark. Crank was hilarious, I did prefer Crank to Crank 2, but they were both great. I think you are missing the point that is Jason Statham's greatness.

If they wanted to do an homage to the old action movies with over the top action jackie would've been prefer for that.

Also what is wrong with Mickey Rourke's face?

Mr Statham starred in an Uwe Boll movie. That's what made Dwayne Johnson sell his soul to Disney - acting in an Uwe Boll movie (remember Doom, anyone?).

Movies are movies.
Actors want money.

Fuck bitches, get paid.

I'm pretty sure Dwayne (as sad and unfortunate as it is) does kids' movies because he actually enjoys doing them. You would have to to avoid going insane while doing as many of those as he has been lately. Some people like children. Race to Witch Mountain was a whole new level of bad, Area 51 somehow managed to be incredibly unentertaining, and I keep wanting to mentally associate him with Bedtime Stories but I know he had nothing to do with that (it just seems like something he would do). Poor guy. At least he still has his muscles.

Remember Wafflesforface? Apparently Mickey is a big fan, and wanted to recreate the look. Sadly, Rourke is made of human. Not of waffley goodness.

I can't take him seriously anymore either. After Scorpion King and leaving wrestling he was supposed to be the new big action star (Walking Tall was pretty good).

Oh man. I love The Rock in movies too, except Doom. Walking Tall and The Rundown are two of my favorites. I was even pretty amused with The Tooth Fairy but I enjoy those kinds of kids movies every now and then and since it had The Rock, it was just a bonus. Race to Witch Mountain was.. not that great but it was better than the pile of crap that is Doom.

Oh, I haven't seen Scott Pilgrim vs The World yet. =(

The only part of Doom that I enjoyed was the end credits reel, because that meant the horrible movie was over.

He became a Pro boxer for a few years and went to the wrong plastic surgeon to get his face fixed after an especially bad injury.

What's wrong with your face?

Not surprisingly Expendables was #1 at the Box Office, Scott Pilgrim was 5th right after Inception.

Doom was the best Aliens ripoff since Pitch Black. Also pretty sure Doom is Uwe Bol free. Uwe Bol has also migrated from incompetently made bad movies to competently made bad movies which is a step forward and a huge step backwards.

Also I give credit to The Rock for not just becoming an action star but taking parts that play against his type of what people expected from him. He's the opposite of Clive Owen, a muscle guy playing an everyman part vs an everyman guy playing the action role.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

She chased the main villain (Number 7). They were bf and gf but he always ignored her so when she left to go to Toronto to make a new life he started noticing and wanted her back. So he formed the League of Evil Exes.

Some of the guys were exes from like the 7th or 8th grade.

Also revealed later in the movie is that Gideon literally is in her mind, thanks to implant that he's done on her. Of course, Gideon's parting challenge to Scott was doom to failed because, he literally IS Scott, and gets along fine with him.

I actually got pissed when I saw he had to fight someone else after Gideon cause I figured it'd be an extra 5 minutes+the ending so about 13 min in all but it was a nice twist.

During the previews did anyone else see the trailer for the movie Devil? I heard someone in the crowd say "this looks good" then it said "by M.Night" and there was a collective groan.

Devil is written, but not directed, by M. Night. This is an important distinction. Devil looks great.

Also, Scott Pilgrim was amazing. The story started diverging a bit from the book near the end (since the story was adapted before the final book was finished... or perhaps started), but it was an incredibly faithful adaptation. I loved it.

edit: I didn't like the Expendables. I went in with zero expectations and I was still let down. It was boring =/ I went with two friends that never go to the theater... they always wait for movies to come out on DVD. They were excited enough to see this movie that they actually went out... and they were disappointed, too. It's bad.
