+ spell damage for ssc

my guild is getting back into ssc and stuff like that and im one of our main tanks so i was wondering around how much +spell would be needed to keep aggro on trash/bosses?

The answer is "depends on your raid's dps". I know it isn't the answer you are looking for, but that's the ultimate answer.

For me, I tend to run 380-430 spell dmg, but I have some high crit DPS'ers.

250-300 is a good place to start for SSC.

thats ok, I have my epic ret set to pound face bring it. I am really hurting on TPS compare to other tanks in my guild. I wanna know how much other tanks can throw out so I know if I am doing something wrong :/

I honestly don't know. I don't ever pay attention to numbers like that - unless someone's pulling off me (which noone does) (unless I'm alt tabbed) (which is often) (but you get my point), then the answer is simply "enough."

I did have some warrior wondering the same thing a some time back, and I just happened to be raiding so I fraps'd a trash pull for him:

That's slightly old gear; no special buffs or AW or anything, just a standard trash pull of a couple mobs.

was it a single mob? because if another mob was getting hit by your aoe or you were double tanking then because omen adds it on. Anyways, either I am doing something wrong or not having seal of veng hurts?

I get about about 800tps
