Though I know it is just polite, and I do live in a semi-Southern area - I hate it when people call me ma'am.

I've never liked being called sir, nor do I like the words sir or ma'am. I don't know why, but I've never been able to use those words seriously.

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate being called ma'am. HATE IT. I've stopped correcting people since they take it offensively and I know they mean it endearingly. But god it's ugly.

I also hate Ms. MIZ. Like seriously. How ugly is that?

I think my biggest problem with being called sir is that I feel like I'm still too young to be called sir. Seriously, I'm only 25. Don't be calling me sir. I prefer to be called guy, if anything.

Of course, I also had parents that made me despise the words when I was young. Every response I gave returned a "Yes, what?"

My best friend was dating a girl in VA for a while.

Ultra... and I mean ULTRA Christian. I'm so glad I remembered to "Sir" and "Ma'am" the entire time we visited, else I'm sure that I would've gotten the beat down of a lifetime.

On the other hand, waking up late, having coffee and breakfast made by her mother, then chilling out smoking (yep, both of us) before heading out for the day was AWESOME!
