Hit and strenght

Postby Dendrah » Tue Feb 23, 2010 1:08 am

Well I have been hit capped for a long time now but with the recent change in belt and coming change in cloak and chest I'll be losing a ton of hit and probably drop to 3-4% again.
The up side of the new items is that I get alot of extra strenght.

What is the balance of hit vs strenght for pure threat generation?

I would really hate to start using a hit trinket apart from Saurfang.

It depends on how much hit vs. Str. Hit until melée cap is better than str with even item level points but there could be enough str on the pieces to make them better for threat if they are an ilvl upgrade.

Hit can be either very slightly better or very slightly worse than strength depending on your current amounts of each. Rule of thumb I would weight them equally and wear the piece that has more hit+str if all your interested in is threat. I wouldn't ever recommend using a hit trinket in a normal gear set, hit just isn't that important and if you're having problems holding threat without one you're probably doing something else wrong that you should fix instead of equipping a hit trinket.
