S2 Mace or Vengeful Gladiator's Shield Wall

I have enough arena points to get one or the other. Currently I accumulate points at a rate of 240 a week. So looking at 8-9 weeks to get bboth.

Currently I have the NB shield, and the sword from Gruul, and sit at close to +450 SD in raids.
We will start Leo on December 5, have not really put an effort on ZA yet as it is hard to fit 10 mans in our raiding schedule.
Comapred to current gear:
Shield is:
1K+ more armor
+22 stamina
+12 more block
-22 defense
+31 resilience
Gavel is:
+11 Stamina
+3 Intellect
+15 spell hit
+22 Spell damage
-25 spell crit
+18 resilience
I am leaning towards the shield, but will welcome advise.

The shield is a way better improvement. 1k armor is a lot.

Since you're getting 240 points per week... I doubt you meet the personal rating requirement for the shield. =/

looks like the merc shield for you =D
If you can afford weekly respecs back and forth between holy and prot you can pretty easily get that rating up

I've not read anything bout personal rating for the shield, is there any official source for it?

It required 1850 on the PTR.
