I'm sure Vanifae would love to get in on this thread, but he is too busy playing Mass Effect 2 for the next month. Both Mass Effect and Dragonage seem like very well done games.

The achievements don't carry any weight from ME1 to ME2. Only that cash achievement which merely gives you some bonus credits and resources.
Funnily enough, that's one I have...
Still I like the social aspect of them, checking in with how my mates are playing and what plots points I can safely discuss with the.
Be careful when you argue with trolls, lest you become one.

I'm getting a little sleepy.

Best line ever. I'll never forget this voice as long as I live. My son was watching an episode of Clone Wars months ago and I nearly bowled my wife over while running into the living room screaming "It's Minsc!" I'm not sure what episode or who exactly the guy was playing, but I recognized that voice from across the house.

I enjoyed that about Dragon Age too, where the confirmation on leaving a zone had the text "Gather your party and venture forth".honorshammer wrote:You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Hell, my wife says that from time to time still... and she only played the game for a little bit.
Old grognard that I am though, hearing these things called RPGs really does crack me up as they aren't. Not really.

I'm not entirely sure if it's the best RPG series of all time. It seems like Bioware learned a lot from Mass Effect, and implemented what they learned in Dragon Age: Origins. Then, they learned from DA and implemented that in ME2. I wonder what'll happen when the sequel to DA:O comes out.

For all you folks playing, who are you trying to romance?
I was planning on trying for Tali but after recruiting Jack, there is no doubt in my mind that she's the one I'm going for. Jack is all sorts of awesome and she's so damaged, I want to just fix everything for her. God I'm lame.

I was going to go for Jack but told her no at the end and went for Miranda instead. Kinda regret it now.

If you want to romance Jack be sure to turn her down when she asks if you want to have sex. If you do have sex with her you are just another asshole trying to use her.
I am romancing Jack and close to the end of the game... I should seal the deal tonight.

Incorrect.
I went after Tali in my first playthrough. Cannot Has no more! If you listen closely, once in a dozen or two uses, when Tali summons her combat drone, she will scream:
"GO FOR THE OPTICS DRONE! GO FOR THE OPTICS! YEAAAAGH"
