Re: thread of random thoughts
I never understood how people end up with so much gold. I know Shamora used to have his filthy way with the AH, but I could never really get the swing of how to do it myself.

Yeah... doing dailies oon it's own is like 300gp...You can't make a good one off it and if you just have lots and lots of toons for dailies, you're still averaging 280/300 gp per hour. Most gold making crap also states that line of value...and still that's not enough to warrant stuff like 20k+ gold.

Friday night, 6 PM, ulduar 10.
2 people paying 25k gold apiece for a rusted proto drake. Sometimes 3 people.
that's 50-75k gold. Split between 8 people if 2 buyers, 7 people if 3 buyers.
6.25k gold for 2 buyers.
10.7k Gold If 3 buyers.
every
week.
I'd have ALOT more if I didn't buy a travelers mammoth, Kirin tor ring, chopper, And librams/diamonds/etc for my insane title.

Re: thread of random thoughts
I had 9k gold when WotLK came out, have 45k now.
I don't have a leet group that sells proto-drakes. My gold came mostly from soloing old bosses, doing dailies regularly, and selling enchanting mats I got from DE'ing the greens I found while doing the dailies.
I'm also a mount collector (which explains the first two points), so I've spent a lot on mounts.
Also a thing that help A LOT is to not have any alts.

See, that's another way to do it!
Before I sold Drakes I made my money from JC/Enchanting on the AH and doing dailies. Nowadays i do dalies for rep/gem patterns/cooking tokens. Nothing else, especially not gold

Re: thread of random thoughts
It can be both good and bad. My LW and BS alts earned a few k's while leveling their professions but wasted 3k+ each when they dinged + enchants/gems in their future gear. Also, raiding/5-mans without too many wipes can generate relatively decent income aswell. If you want gold then feel free to level alts (70->80 questing alone is 4k+) and sell their crafted stuff but don't gear them up!culhag wrote:Also a thing that help A LOT is to not have any alts.

I'm totally shocked Putin is considering running for President again in 2012. I totally didn't see this coming, and I am sure no one else did either!

Re: thread of random thoughts
1) It takes far less time to google "maintankadin thread of random thoughts" (with a dead accurate top result!) than to use Maintankadin's forum search engine.
2) Here in Norway, you can't buy beer in stores after 8pm (6pm on the weekends). I'm not a fan of identifying myself with any kind of group, but there's a certain unspoken cameraderie between the ragged, shaggily bearded (or unbearded, though they stand out) men (and sometimes women, though the bearded ones really stand out) pulling into the parking lot at six minutes to eight. They're well aware of the timetable, yet somehow everyone's on their best behavior. There are no horns sounding, no birds flipped, yet everyone's moving swiftly, almost elegantly, toward the entrance. It's a dance, an epic, a weekly fairytale. There's no blocking the beer fridges, no hesitation, no doubt of which brand to purchase. We're here for a common purpose, and we're damn well going to complete our tasks before the bureaucracy shuts down the chilled source of liquid feel-goods.

Yes, most threads here do...
Anyone else notice that the thread of random thoughts seems to follow a similar path as all our other threads?

Not sure those qualify as random thoughts... since it's what most people are thinking about all the time...
