Soloing for money?

hello everybody,

the incoming patch really destroyed my previous gold making strategy (selling ench mats) and I am looking for a new one.

I like to spend a lot, so I need to produce a stable amount of money.

I was wondering if soloing stuff could be a decent strat.

I tried with world bosses (azu, doomwalker) and they provide good money but they're really difficoult to find up ..

is there a particular instance/encounter that is good to farm for money?

Normal Ramps made me the most amount of gold per hour but it really depends on how quickly you can do it, and how well Runecloth sells on your AH. I made somewhere between 500-700 gold per hour. 10-13 minute runs of the place. Vendor all greens and blues, sell the BoEs (got a blade of misfortune from it... that sold for like 100+), AH the Runecloth. Rinse, repeat.

AH the BoE d1 set pieces (for some reason they sell well)

I have made... 3-400g a run, each run takes 30ish minutes.

One thing to note for Strat... in order to make this very productive, you need to either completely empty out all your bags, or make sure you've got a mailbox at your disposal. The amount of stuff that drops in that place is insane.

Also Scrabots are really useful here. I use Strat as one of my cash cows, if only because I may someday get that stupid mount. I don't know what I'd do as non-engineer though as I just carry around too much crap.

This annoyed me. If I had a vendor/mailbox just outside I would probably have run it alot more. Ok, I guess you can ride back to Light's hope chapel, vendor bops/greys - send sellables to bank alt, and go back grinding.

Or you could go to the vendor in Terrordale. Augustus the Touched. He's in the old Inn there. It is not that far of a walk, compared to Light's Hope Chapel.

If you are going into strath, you need................................. 2 stacks of water. NOTHING else. You could probably get buy with one stack if you made sure to use your seals appropriately. Other than that, stuff it all in the bank. I normally go in with no less than 80 open slots, and sometimes I still have to pop the bot/box to unload.

My problem is, I have Too Much Stuff. I have ~18 slots free in my bags, and about three to ten free in my bank. I have three+ tanking sets, a ret gear set, healing gears, nostalgia-gear, as well as incomplete pvp sets. And weapons+trinkets up the freakin' wazoo.

I try to sell stuff, but I just can't get rid of 30 slots of gear to clear out space for Strat farming. Worse, the first time I did that purge in Wrath, I foolishly sold stuff that I ended up needing again for reaching passive block cap, so now I worry that I'll end up regretting almost anything I vendor.

Soloing the bosses in AQ20 gives a pretty good return every three days. You can clear every boss in about an hour, and on top of the cash drops you also get the skill manuals which vendor for 10g a pop. Ossirian has three of those, and the other bosses have two. It basically doubles your cash intake.
