[10hc ToC] - Is a 3rd healer a luxury?
3 healing makes dpsers work harder, 2 healing makes healers work harder, and I'm fairly certain not all dps/healer teams see eye to eye on how the workload should be split...
How do raidleaders on these boards approach the issue on your raids in current hc content?

beasts with two healers is nasty if one/both get snobloid on them. Jaraxxus with two healers and ministress+burning flesh+ministress kiss on healer can be a bit complicated aswell. Depending on class/spec some might be able to cope with it but not all combinations work. E.g for a druid getting a snobloid won't be that bad as quite a lot of throughput will remain unaffected through using a metric ton of hots. For a paladin it's pretty much a death sentence, especially if he was assumed to be providing bulk of the healing on tanks.
I'd say "it depends". If you have great DPS 3 healers is most definitely much safer but more DPS can help burning things down faster. There are a lot of mechanics in totc that make healer's life a living hell and pretty much locking them out of healing for significant time periods.
I've personally done 4/5 on 10-man heroic with three healers on each boss and it seemed to work fine, got there with 45 attempts left but haven't had proper tries on Anub yet.

We take 3 healers. It's safer, and the dps checks in 10man for a 25man hardmode guild aren't really very severe. We do set up very well synergized runs with the 5 dps, though, making sure we have the major buffs ticked off.

We have done it twice so far and we're still learning what works best. Right now we're running 3 healers on the first 4 bosses and then 2 healers on Anub. Luckily I have a decent shadow set and our resto shaman has a good elemental set. We may go down to two healers later but that seems to be working for us so far.

You may need a 3rd healer at first, but if you're not wearing 258 gear, you may not meet the DPS requirements for Anub. That being said, you may be better off 3 healing 4/5 and picking up additional gear for a while, instead of 2-healing 2/5.
We have two h10 groups. Because of attendance issues, last night's group 2 ran 2 paladin healers. It wasn't optimal, but we did manage a clear with 8 virgins in the group. We've downed h25.NB once, to give you an idea of our gear level.

Some fights we do with 3, some we do with 2, thanks to the wonders of dual spec and being able to gear people's offspecs in normal modes.
One of the healers going offspec DPS usually amplifies DPS quite dramatically too, since in addition to one extra DPSer, they add things like moonkin aura, 3% hit, replenishment (so the hunter can go to a higher dps spec and provide 10% ap as well, the warlock can do coa instead of coe) etc.

We run 2 main spec healers(Pally/Priest) and a dual spec healer (Boomkin, Ele/Enh Shaman). We run three healers for the First four fights. As stated before there are just too many mechanics that can lock out your healers and lead to a wipe to only bring two. Also as stated, the dps checks are not really that stringent on 10 mans.
Basically three heal Northrend Beasts, Lord Jaraxxus and Twins, Two heal Faction Champs and Anub'arak

As stated above, the best thing to do is having 2 main spec healers + one dps/healer. We use 3 healers only for Champions and Valkyrs and occasionally for Beasts (basically only in alt runs)
