[Druid Leveling] Need some info.

Postby Punkss2 » Thu Sep 24, 2009 3:35 pm

So I am planning on making a druid here soon. Here is a few things that I would like to know so I can level him quickly. I am plan on leveling kitty dps all the way.

1) What heirloom items should I purchase?
2) What's a good site to check for leveling specs, glyphs, gears stats etc?
3) Any recommended addons?

Basically any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Punk

Shadowcraft chest and shoulders, a Lava Dredger, and two Swift Hands of Justice. Can't think of any addons needed for leveling, and I just use WoWhead for specs and glyphs. Grab whatever's useful.

Glyph of Rake is funtastic for levelling. Even in heirloom stuff you don't want a million mobs deciding they're scared of you and grabbing all their friends when you're levelling.

Once again thanks for the info guys. Now since I'm bored at work and have nothing much to do at m, I need to think of a good name for this new little druid.

First, should I go male or female? (Yes, I'm a dude IRL)

Second, a name. The only requirement will be that it ends with punk. It's my signature "thing" if you will.

kk, suggestions kgo!!

Female.

How cheesy do you want it? I think Furpunk sounds all right. Mine's called Roadkill \o\
I used to play a paladin.

Female, Tivona

The meaning of the name Tivona is Nature Lover.

The origin of the name is Hebrew.

Multipunk. As in, multiple forms! Male vs Female depends on the race. Female tauren, Male NE.

Why oh why would you suggest male nelf! I was in a WSG the other day and the alliance had 5 male nelfs... I thought they were
trying to ugly us to death.

level 1-20 as boomkin, it will be considerably faster. early bear form at 10 is a joke. grab some lowbie + Int gear for 1-20, wrath spam and melee them down the last 10-15% with a 2H (heirloom mace). at 20 respec feral and cruise to 80 with cat form.

Well, I already had the shadowcraft shoulders, so I did some badge scrounging and bought the mace and chest last night. Since all my toons are alliance i am stuck with a Nelf one way or another. I decided on a female Nelf with the name Hotpunk  She's lvl 10 atm and plugging away!

I know balance is pretty decent from 1-30. I'm not quite sure about the rest. I have a friend who basically refuses to make a caster and claims that cat form is the fastest way to level, but from my experience boomkin can shine too. Which style do you prefer? Which you enjoy more will probably make a bigger difference than a small amount of DPS.

I like both play styles tbh. I have a variety of caster/mele dps alts already. Everything I have heard about endgame kitties being great dps wise, but a challenge to play is what is really driving me on this toon. For leveling, I'm at the point where I have seen all these quests many, many times so I'm just looking to burn through the levels and get to 80. So far the wrath spam seems to be the way to go till I get my kitty form so that's probably where I'm heading for now. I want to get those trinket's, but don't have the badges or seals to get them yet. I will have to start doing the AT dailies again on my paly (only crusader toon) and I will probably get the trinks that way.
