Death to DBM & BigWigs!

Postby Pîk » Fri Sep 18, 2009 8:41 am

So, there is a new guy in town, and this mod is absolutely amazing. Let me say beforehand, I didn't create this mod nor am I advertising for the creators, I have used BigWigs and La Vendetta(DBM) Boss mods interchangably over my last three years of playing this game. Recently though, I have tried out a new set of boss mods.

Introducing: Deus Vox Encounters(Click for link).

This mod has everything that DBM/BWs has, but overall, after using those two mods on and off for years, and then picking this one up, the creators of this mod have improved upon every feature that DBM/BWs has to offer. You can optimize everything with this addon, even advanced settings with each and every alert/warning for each ability that a boss has. One other thing I have noticed over the last few days of using it, it gets updated literally like once or twice every two days. Mods like BigWigs haven't been updated in almost two weeks, so the developers of DVE are constantly improving this addon. I started using it, then brought it of my guild members and they loved it over DBM.

Heres a screenshot of it, arrow pointing to the little GUI you get with boss %'s on every encounter. A little bit of Twins hard mode lol.

Anyways, check it out, I feel like i'm in infomercial. Its worth your while.

Excuse me while I fanboy over the addon, but excuse me it's a bazillion times prettier than DBM and Bigwigs as well.

The icons remind me of RDX.

edit: haha I'll be buggered.

Also, DBM usually gets updated a lot when new content is released, then when it's right it stops updating as much because it's done.

Constant churn isn't necessarily a desired feature, all the time ...

Looks good, but how do I move the timer bars around? Can't figure it out.

On the default Pane, the second icon from the right lets you lock and unlock the anchors for the bars.

Really nice.
Having different sounds and customisations are nice.

I just haven't found yet how to move around the warnings texts. They keep scrolling on top of my avatar and aren't really readable because of the spell effects and scrolling damages.

Used it tonight for a ToC10 run. Really, really nice. Will definitely be sticking with it for the foreseeable future.

Also swapped to this a few days back and I'm sticking with it. Timers are dead on for every encounter I've done so far, unlike DBM. I like the new/clean look.

it's not in there. it's on the default/encounter pane with the timer and other buttons. the little picture of the lock is the one you want.

I also have to endorse this mod...it's clean, and does just about everything you'd need it to do, and is highly customizable.

Hell, on the twin Jormungar, it even throws up arrows with the name, direction, and distance of people you should run to to cleanse/be cleansed.
